Chris Henry is a NFL player for the Cincinnati Bengals. During an argument with his fiance Loleini Tonga, the mother of his 3 children, Chris was mortally injured. He succumbed to his injuries today. No information on whether the fiance will be charged. Apparently, she tried to leave and he jumped into the flatbed of the truck she was driving and within a quarter of a mile, from her residence in Charlotte,NC , he fell from the flatbed and sustained head injuries. The couple had 3 children DeMarcus, Seini and Chris Jr. Pray for this family!

I hate deadbeats! I think I have made this clear in former posts but, I really hate it when people sit back and allow people like, Horace Grant, to get away with it! My sons father is far from a millionaire but, I wasn't going to allow him to screw all over me in court. I, definitely, wouldn't allow my sons education to be affected! I would write letters and solicit attorneys! If money is a problem, seek new attorneys or attorneys that will perform work pro-bono. Whatever you have to do, make certain your court orders and divorce decrees are enforced! Shame him and embarrass him! Whatever you have to do! As an adult, you are the voice of your child! I'm next to have a television show! Well, not really but, I feel justified! I am sickened by the television shows on now! I will address the first one that needs to be cancelled. The Wanda Sykes show! I am so tired of her off-brand humor. I tried to give her the benefit of the doubt but, I am sickened. I think she needs better correspondents and writers. The whole premise of the show is stupid. I notice that she reminds us that she is gay every week. Could this be to ensure the gay vote? Otherwise, it has no relevance. I feel that black people are under attack by her. We had to watch Tiger's affairs unfold on the daily news, can you please find material related to something else? Saturday she demanded answers from the President. We, as black people, need to understand that the Presidency is a very complicated job. I wouldn't want it! I, surely, don't expect him to get into office and change everything for me because he's black! Listen, I gave the show a chance but, her unfunny sidekick and that stupid segment where the drinks are served, are unnecessary! Give Cedric The Entertainer a show! Bring Martin Lawrence back but, please, please take Wanda Sykes away! I might have given her a pass if it weren't for the fact that she is married to a white woman and raising white children! Yet she always talking about black people! Go back to obscurity!

My Idea For War!

If the rolls of the Armed Forces are still running low! I suggest that the American prisoners that are being paid to sit and master their crafts, be trained and sent to Afghanistan and other terrorist countries, to fight! If you are man enough to pick up a gun and take a life, fight for your country! They have ravished their communities and broken up families, in the name of a color or drug turf! Fight for something honorable! If the Geneva Code is put into their heads and they are brainwashed to abide by the code, this could work! Perhaps a parole once their tour of duty is over, will assist with the process. If a person violates their parole, they receive another tour of duty. The next time they will be placed in another warring area. They must fight until they are too old to continue fighting. Maybe, then they will sit their asses down. Make their parents proud, for once. The jails are overcrowded and people are being released, only to reoffend! This recidivism has got to stop! If you feel differently, please comment! Any comments are welcome! Thanks to my cousin Gary for helping iron the wrinkles in our plan! I came up with this plan because I am tired of poor little kids losing their parents! Especially since, these convicts are coming home taking off their shirts and bragging about doing "time!" Let's make them brag about doing something respectable. I am NOT pro-war, I detest war and I'm very upset we have been pulled into this for oil! I, just, think that we are throwing good money for bad! We can save money and lives and families with my plan. I feel it's my duty to also address the fact that children are being molested all over the world! The fact that the latest, alleged, molester is a celebrity only makes us know his name. What about all the poor children that are being used and abused by parents or friends and we don't know their names? Anonymity is what allows these people to continue! I, also, feel the need to talk about victims becoming victimizers! Majority of the molesters were victims, at some point, themselves. I am a strong advocate for therapy! Why people like to carry burdens and feel that seeing a counselor is such an awful stigma, is beyond me. I live for a person who can listen to my shit and not judge me but, steer me in a different direction. I'm not crazy! You'd be crazy to not take up that opportunity! I really just want people to focus on the action and not the celebrity. Somewhere there is a 3 and 4 year old that, if left with no therapy, are growing into victimizers! My story below, albeit sensational, is not unique! Let's focus on the victims. Thank you for reading.

A few years back this group came onto the scene and had a few hits. In the height of their burgeoning career, the lead singer left the group! His name was Pleasure P! I know, what kinda name is that? Anyhoo, Pleasure P went on to find success as a solo artist with hits like, "Under" and "Boyfriend #2." I always wanted to know why he left the group so soon! Well, Mediatakeout.com and a few more reputable blogs, have found out why he left the group and it's not "pretty!" Allegedly, Pleasure P, nee Marcus Cooper, was kicked out of the group after he, allegedly, molested a 3 and 4 year old child. The story first dropped when the daughter of the attorney that represented Marcus Cooper, revealed that her father was paid to keep the scandal quiet. When this happened, Mediatakeout.com found papers showing that the nephew of Marcus Cooper was placed in a shelter after there were allegations leveled against him. The papers state that Marcus Cooper cannot be unsupervised with his nephew and he cannot live in the home with his nephew! His former group has not confirmed this but, they did put out a statement confirming that they kicked him out of the group! I wonder what Eddie Murphy has to say about all this! A Sad Day!

It was a sad day in a Pontiac,MI courtroom. Two 15 year olds sentenced to life in prison, with no chance of parole. Their crime? Their crime was kicking two homeless men to death in a 3 day spree. They were found guilty of 1st degree murder and, in Michigan, that carries a sentence of life in prison. Two mother sobbed as their children were turned over to the Michigan Department of Justice. As one mother sobbed the judge said, "Stop crying! Are you crying because you feel sorry for him or sorry for yourself?" There has been much debate about these sentences for young adults. Many feel that these "children" are being turned into even harder criminals being placed in the system so young. Others feel that these kids are old enough to know the difference between right and wrong and are hell bent on going to jail, anyway. Whatever stance you take, there are two kids being placed amongst the hardest of hard. I don't know if they could have been rehabilitated if left on the streets. Neither does the judge or jury. What I do know is, two kids are being thrown to the wolves. All I can do is pray for their soul. The judge gave good advice to the young men. It's hard to believe that the way A.I.D.S has ravished the world, we still need to ask people to get tested! A simple cheek swab is all it takes to ensure your safety! Once thought of as a gay disease, A.I.D.S. has crept into the heterosexual community and run rampant. Now, young girls are being passed this disease by the adult men who are pursuing and bedding them. Of course, it doesn't stop there! That young girl, then, returns to her high school and passes it to some unsuspecting and pubescent young man. Girls, today, are still only concerned about being pregnant. They are still not protecting themselves and thinking the worst that can happen would be an abortion. I urge ALL parents to talk to your children until you are blue in the face about sex. Yes, it's uncomfortable but, so are the images of A.I.D.S. victims. We are losing our children to violence and drugs and we stand up about it! Yet, no one wants to talk about sex with their child? Show them pictures, tell them stories! Even if you have to tell stories about yourself! When you personalize stories, they listen. My sons friends feel that their parents don't listen and are too old fashion. If they knew that their parents went through the very same things they are struggling through, perhaps they'd be more at ease with talking to them. I don't want this to turn into a lecture on parenting but, WE are responsible for protecting our children! Tell them about getting tested and being protected and most of all being RESPECTED! Get Tested!

I'm sure you have all heard about the little fender bender that Tiger Woods had Friday! Well, I happen to think there is more to the story than meets the eye. Let's recap shall we? First, The National Enquirer reports that Tiger is having an affair with a New York party girl. Before Tiger can refute the story, he has a little accident. Allegedly, he pulls out of his driveway in his Cadillac Escalade, and hits a fire hydrant and then a tree on his neighbors property. The accident does not cause his airbags to deploy but, it is so serious that his wife, Elin, must bust out the back windows to get him out of the car. She drags him out of the car and lays him on the ground. When the police arrive, she is standing over his body and he is semi-conscious and bloody at the mouth. He is taken to the hospital, treated and released. Both Tiger and his wife are refusing to meet with police to tell what REALLY happened that night. Now that was their scenario! TMZ says that a friend of Tiger's told them that Tiger and his wife were in a heated argument and Tiger said, "She went ghetto on me!" She, allegedly, grabbed two golf clubs and went after him. Funny how people marry people that are not their race and act surprised when those same people "go ghetto" on their ass! That's not ghetto, that's what a scorned woman will do! No matter what color she is! Tiger has said this is embarrassing to his family and that they intend to keep it a private matter. This is what is fueling speculation! If it was just a minor accident, keep reiterating that and move on. Sadly, Tiger will no longer be know as the golfer with the best swing! His wife has taken that title!

I have been so neglect of my duties. You see, it all started when I realized my son was in the process of getting a driver's license. No way in hell, was he going to be driving his little friends around in my car! This is what started me on what is now being called, "The Never Ending Used Car Salesman Hunt!" When people used to make fun of Used car salesmen, I thought it was just THEIR experience. Little did I know that 98% of the men I met were slimy and big liars! Because this will not be my first experience with used cars, I knew what to look and listen for. I spotted a nice Acura TL and decided to test drive it. The saleman said that he was "firm" on the price. Imagine, to my surprise, the car was making a slight jump when switching gears. The car was an automatic so the gears should have switched smoothly. I told the man I refused to buy a car with a problem transmission. I thought he had seen a ghost! He couldn't imagine how I knew about it but, he wanted to deal at that point. I opted not to buy that car because 1). transmissions are pricey and usually never work properly again. 2). I wanted a car that I could feel my son would be safe in and a tricky transmission could conk out at a very inopportune time. Like when making a risky left turn. I am telling this whole story to inform women that WE need to learn about cars. There won't always be times when we have a man around to negotiate for us. My mother is the master negotiator and she taught me well. Also, if you are test driving a used car, find the nearest Autozone and they will check out the diagnostics for free. If there is no Autozone handy, find the nearest service center and ask that they check out the fluids, (transmission fluid, coolant and oil). Tell the person you are thinking of buying this car and ask their opinion. They have no vested interest and will be truthful. Keep all these tips in mind and you will prevail. NOW GO SHOP

The world was captivated by the little boy who was swept away in a man-made balloon. In fact, the world now calls him "Balloon Boy!" Little Falcon Heene has now confessed to the world that they did it "for the show." His father has been on TV saying that it's not true but, you have to believe him. The boy has been asked since, and he keeps throwing up! I started to doubt the family as soon as the balloon came down. Not only was little Falcon not in the balloon but, the box they claimed he was in wasn't there. It has since came to my attention that the father called the local TV station before calling the cops. He call and asked for a TV helicopter! When the producer called him back and said, "are you serious?" He, then, put the police on the phone. Who in the world would call the local TV station first? The family is notorious for their antics and had pitched an idea for a show to TLC, only to be rejected. This makes me wanna say, "Just get a damn job!"

Every once in a while, you run into a person andd think they are great. Well, if you don't tell them how will they know? I want to talk about Newark New Jersey's mayor, Cory Booker. I stumbled upon this humble hero while watching Forest Whitaker's show Brick City on Sundance. The show followed Mayor Booker and his staff and other Newarkers trying to make a difference. I found him attractive, articulate and exactly what Newark and Detroit needs. He truly CARED for the city and it's residents. I watched as he balanced budget tried to combat crime and participated in Midnight Basketball. The man has spirit and more energy than a 2 year old. I love a man with conviction. Mr. Booker is single but, I'm sure not for long. Note to Cory Booker: I applaud you for the work you are doing and I respect you for the poise you possess in the face of opposition. I will visit your fair city one day and I pray that you are still in charge. God Bless...

Rush Limbaugh wants to buy into the St Louis Rams. "Not so fast" say the African American players on the team! Many of the players have said that they will NOT play if he is a part of the organization. One player said,

To them I say, "I'm trying to keep him alive!" God gives us children and he says, "Take care of this precious package until I come back for him/her." Taking care of that precious package is what I intend to do. When I think about this all "A" student being beaten to death in the street and people would rather videotape than protect, I AM SICKENED! The four boys did this world a grave injustice! Derrion could have cured cancer. Derrion could have made the paralyzed walk again. Derrion could have found a cure for A.I.D.S! We'll never know because he chose schooling over gangs! To parents: Let's stop trying to be popular with our children and get on their backs! I was perusing another blog (allhiphop.com) when I came across a letter written to Alicia Keys from singer Mashonda. I want to post the letter but I must first tell the background. Mashonda is a singer and the wife of producer, Swizz Beatz. Mashonda and Swizz are divorcing and Mashonda says that Alicia Keys is the reason. Alicia Keys and Swizz are now an item. Read the letter:
"After having a great evening with my son and enjoying some fun twit chat, I decided to sign off and get some work done. However, a few hours later I was advised that I should check @aliciakeys twit page (twitter). I've never reached out to her on twitter before. I feel our issues are a lot more serious than a website conversation. Not to mention that I've reached out to her many times in the beginning of this whole thing, as any wife would do. Unfortunately, I never succeeded in getting a response. The 1st time I meet AK, my husband introduced us to each other at an event. ( I have no choice but to call him my husband, until he is not anymore) In the messages that I sent to her (AK), I made it very clear that on the contrary of what she might be hearing, I am still married to my husband, living with him and just had a child. Its been two years and I still have not received a response. What I do receive, is constant displays of selfishness and disconcern to me and my son.

I was a fan of AK's last album, we were both signed to J Records and I always checked up on her projects. I sang her songs and admired her for creating Superwoman and Karma, I would never deny her, her talent. I believed in her until I found out she was possibly sleeping with my husband. The affair was denied by both, until it was finally admitted months later.

Already I can hear some of you saying " why are u blaming her, You cant make someone leave their wife, You cant break something thats broken". Well, my marriage was not broken, as far as I knew we were celebrating our sons birth and getting ready to celebrate our 5 year wedding anniversary . Call it blind love, whatever. I call it being a devoted wife.. As far as me blaming her and not blaming him, thats false. Me and my husband have worked out our differences. We are in a good place as people and as parents. I accept his choices and I am comfortable enough with myself to move on. I am so very blessed in many ways.

My concern with AK is no longer the fact that she assisted in destroying a family but that she has the audacity to make these selfish comments about love and wanting to be with someone, even after knowing their situation. How is this the same Superwoman that I sang out loud with in my truck? I ask myself sometimes.

If you are reading this Alicia, let me start by saying, you know what you did. You know the role you played and you know how you contributed to the ending of my marriage. You know that I asked you to step back and let me handle my family issues. Issues that you helped to create.
Im not saying everything was perfect all the time but no relationship is perfect. We made a vow to God and I believe you should have respected that, as a woman. I know you owe me or my son nothing but I just wish you would've handled things more carefully. I'm not judging you, I put you and the whole situation in the hands of God, the Higher Power. Just know that as a woman, I expected so much more from you. When I had my son he came out at 4 pounds 15 ounces! He was healthy as a bull. During my labor, the lady down the hall could be heard screaming because she was delivering a 13 pound baby! She screamed bloody murder for hours! When I went to see my son in the nursery he lay there looking bored and ready to go. Next to him was a big-ass baby that filled the little crib he was in. He had an IV in his head and looked like he was growing before my eyes! Well, and Indonesian woman has outdone that baby! The woman gave birth, by caesarean, to a 19 pound baby! The baby was so big because trhe mother was diabetic which made the baby receive too much glucose. How in the hell can you carry a stomach with over 20 pounds in it? This baby looks like he needs a nipple on a milk gallon!

I watched the video of Michael Jeffrey Jordan's induction into The Hall Of Fame and I was sad. The Greatest Player Of All turned his acceptance speech into a volley of harsh taunts and trash talking! After they talked about how "great" he was he launched into a tirade. He talked about Bryon Russell being the reason he returned after his retirement. Apparently Russell, who was a rookie in Utah, saw him out and challenged him. Big mistake! Jordan made the game winning bucket over Russell's head in a very embarrassing win over Utah. He flew in the starting point guard, who his high school coach picked over him, and stated that he just wanted his former coach to know that, "You made a big mistake, dude!" He talked about Isiah Thomas and Jeff Van Gundy and a slew of others. All while they sat in their seats honoring him! The worst point came when instead of thanking his family, namely his children, he simply said, "I'd hate to be you guys!" I sat with my mouth on the floor watching his display. He went from being the "greatest" to being a sad bully! I know the Hall Of Fame would love to rescind their award but, after all his stats speak for themselves. I pray that he looks at the tape and realizes that he stepped on people, needlessly. I pray that he says that his children are watching and he is tarnishing a wonderful legend. Who am I kidding, he is Michael Jeffrey Jordan.

"Pastor Steven Anderson stood by his sermon in an interview with MyFOXPhoenix, which reports that the pastor continues to encourage his parishioners to join him in praying for the president’s death.

I received an interesting e-mail from my sons School Superintendent, today. In the email she discusses how the local newspaper misquoted and darn-right lied about the districts stance on the speech to school children by President Obama. According to the media, the district urged parents to keep their children home if they didn't agree with President Obama giving a speech to school age children. I have always known that the media can and will twist and misreport things but, damn! I want YOU to read what the superintendent said and interpret it for yourself. Read:

Message from the Superintendent

In response to President Obama addressing all students on Tuesday, September 8, I am very dismayed that the Detroit Free Press misconstrued the District’s position. In a Detroit Free Press story on September 4, 2009, the Free Press reported that Farmington Public Schools is encouraging parents to pull students from class if they are uncomfortable with their child(ren) hearing the President’s speech.

I want to assure you that is not what we sent out on our list serv nor posted on the District’s web site. It is also important to note that the Detroit Free Press did not contact the District to comment on President Obama’s speech.

In fact, the District’s sentiment is quite the opposite. However, in order to support our schools, we felt it necessary to let parents know their options. We were hoping to alleviate additional calls to schools’ main offices as the first day of school is quite busy already.

I have personally reviewed the President’s speech and believe it is entirely appropriate for all our students to view, and thus, I am recommending that our teachers show it during the first week of school. The President’s speech may be read on the home page at www.whitehouse.gov. The District strongly supports President Obama’s message of the importance of education, working hard and taking responsibility for learning. These are the same messages that our students are hearing from every adult in their lives from parents, teachers, principals, school board members, and civic leaders. We want all our students to recognize the importance of getting an education and being given (and take advantage of) every opportunity to learn.

I was wondering what happened to Mark McEwen! I read a story about him, yesterday, that shocked me to the core. For those who don't know, Mark McEwen, was a weatherman and anchor for CBS's morning show. Apparently, in 2005 he felt ill and visited a doctor and was told he was suffering from stomach flu. He left and boarded a plane and suffered a massive stroke. He decided to sue and his case was thrown out! I have seen the effects of strokes and they can be devastating. Many suffer from paralysis and aphasia (the loss of a previously held ability to speak or understand spoken or written language, due to disease or injury of the brain). A video has been circulating the web and it is disgusting! The video involves actress, Maia Campbell. Daughter of the the late author, BeBe Moore Campbell. In the video a guy is talking to Maia and she is, obviously, not well. She curses and rants and puts together sentences that mean nothing! If I recall, her mother wrote a book about Maia's mental illness titled, "72 Hour Hold," and she chronicled Maia's downward spiral. This caused her mother much grief. I was pissed at the video because the guy taping is goading her! He laughs as she screams and threatens and tries to insinuate that she is prostituting. I will not post this video because it is a sad testament to what people will do to get notoriety from the internet. I will ask that, anyone reading this post, pray for Maia! Pray that someone reaches out to her and gets her the help she desperately needs. Pray that her, so-called friends stop exploiting her and help her! Pray that she is safe because she is, obviously, on the streets and at the mercy of fools and people who wish her harm. Just pray!

I was watching my local news and happened upon a commercial for TMZ. They were showing footage of Chris Brown and Harvey Levin says, "He's so full of himself!" I guess because he is in a car full of women. I was so pissed! They called him a girlfriend beater! Granted he pled guilty to assaulting Rihanna. I have one question: If he is such a monster and people can say such awful things about him, why aren't people holding Rihanna to such a standard? If young girls are watching and can be influenced by these two, if she is sneaking around hooking up with him, what example is she sending? Do not give me the Stockholm syndrome bullshit! She is just as culpable for how this looks to young girls and boys everywhere! If she took a stand young girls would feel empowered, if she left him and stayed away young boys would feel that one slap would be the end! Don't talk badly about Chris Brown and make Rihanna an angel! Both are young and made stupid mistakes but, they both need to know that kids are watching!

Last night, my fave reality show was on. Project Runway is back! Last night was a treat because they did an all-star version. The former guests on the show are back! My fave designers are back for another turn at becoming the best designer. Korto Momolu and Mychael Knight gave it their all but, Daniel won. Sadly, everyone who watched noticed that there was something wrong with the winning verdict. Daniel's collection seemed to be unstructured and unfinished, while Korto's collection was polished, elegant and beautiful. Usually known for her Afro-centric fashion, Korto kept her collection clean and without her usual African flair. I am afraid that my beloved reality shows are being racially biased! I will give the show one more watching but, if I see this ish happening again, I will replace my viewership!

The last time I blogged, I talked about my child support case! Finally it's over! Sadly, my sons father behaved like a fool in court and was thrown in jail! I could not believe my eyes! I was always taught to be on my best behavior in court! Apparently, he wasn't taught this. The judge upheld my child support increase and told him that our son is 16 and does NOT have to visit with him, if he doesn't want to. The defendant feels that, "If I pay child support, he HAS to come and see me!" Well, that is not the case! Had he tried to foster a relationship with our son, perhaps our son would feel differently! So, to all the men out there who feel the same way, it behooves you to maintain a relationship with your sons and daughters! Stop making the mother your focal point! She doesn't want you anymore! Take care of your children!

I have been on Twitter and read some of the most ignorant rants, I have ever seen. Mostly regarding the Nas/Kelis ruling of approximately, $55,000 a month in alimony and child support. I decided to reveal some things to you. Firstly, I am due in family court on 7/28/09. This will be my second time in as many months. My sons father has proved that he makes $7,000 a month. He is contesting paying $200 a week for his 16 year old son. Regardless of the fact that I have, solely, paid $5400 for braces and $350 for driving school and don't let me get started on school clothes and supplies! The kicker about this story is my sons father hasn't spoken to him since November. Before that time, he stopped speaking to my son for an entire year. I had my son write him a letter and they talked. This time he is not speaking because my son doesn't want to come to his house, every other weekend, and babysit his two children (my sons little sister and brother). I'm airing this because it bothers me that people would be so incensed about Nas and Kelis, yet I am fighting for $200 a week and nobody thinks that is strange. A persons occupation has nothing to do with how they should take care of their children. Do you think Kelis and Knight could live off of $200 a week? One person on Twitter has the nastiest opinion of the situation! I guess it's because he alternates babysitting his daughter in lieu of child support. Yet, he is constantly trying to find someone to keep his child. Let's face it, babysitting is your DUTY! So, I ask that you think about others situations when you judge Nas and Kelis. SOME people would pay anything for their child.

The young man sort of resembles Michael Jackson which makes me believe he can't possibly be his child! A Big Decision...

A big decision came down today. family court judge has awarded Kelis $44,000 a month in child support. As you may know, Kelis gave birth to a 7.8lb baby boy yesterday. The baby was named Knight. Cute name! Well, sometimes it's cheaper to keep her! I still hold out faith that this couple will reconcile. Knight is the first child for Kelis and the second for Nas, 35, who has a 15-year-old daughter, Destiny, from a previous relationship.

Many moons ago I discussed my disgust for Philly! It came from watching the show Parking Wars. It seemed that drivers were doomed in Philly. If they weren't booting your car for parking in front of your own home, they were impounding your car and giving you the run-around to get it back. Now there is the situation with the kids swimming and now the police officers. Some Philly police officers have filed a lawsuit on the grounds that an officer started a website that caters to racist cops and citizens. The Caucasian officers post racist comments about blacks and then come to work and discuss the comments in front of black officers! Isn't Philly the city of brotherly love? Obviously, the police didn't get the memo! I think that if they feel this way, we should cut off tourism! Let the city choke itself! Stop having Superbowls there! Stop having Allstar games there! Stop having anything that will draw African American dollars and let's see what those racist people feel! Let them feel the power of the almighty dollar staying in the African American hand! Update: The Humor Mill (the starter of the bankruptcy rumor) has reported that Katt Williams is NOT bankrupt. Personally, I don't care but, he has a fan base and they deserve to know the truth.

An Arrest In The McNair Murder?

According to the Associated Press, "Federal agents have arrested a convicted felon for allegedly providing the gun later used to kill ex-NFL quarterback Steve McNair, The Associated Press learned Friday.

Two law enforcement officials, speaking on condition of anonymity because they were not authorized to discuss the case, said the suspect was arrested by Bureau of Alcohol, Tobacco, Firearms, and Explosives agents.

Federal prosecutors in Nashville planned to announce the charges at a press conference later Friday."
Apparently the shooter, Sahel Kazemi, bought the gun from the felon as she was trying to sell her car! She mentioned that she needed a gun and days later he sold it to her and two days later she used it. I hope this provides closure for the McNair family but, I still have them in my prayers.

Nas and Kelis have decided to divorce. Despite the fact that she is due next month with their first child together. Kelis filed a petition saying that she need at least $10,000 a month to take care of expenses for her and her child. Nas has finally responded and he said that she thinks he makes more money than he does! Kelis claimed he received $11 million from Def Jam but he says it was more like $4 million. He says that he receives about $150,000 a month and his expenses are $75,000 a month. These monies are for his clothes and grooming. Excuse me but, I have never seen Nas dressed in anything that couldn't have come from TJ Maxx! He's not a party animal that you see out on the red carpets, so why so much on clothes? I know it seems like I haven't been here in a million years but, I have a good reason. The first reason is: I was hurled into a funk behind the death of Michael Jackson. Not buying it? Okay, I was really feeling under the weather. Still not buying it? Okay, I'll come clean. I really have felt bombarded with other things and felt like I had writer's block. Well, my sister so kindly kicked me in the arse and now I'm back. Let's see what have I missed? The BET awards! I vented my disdain about the awards on twitter but, I never spoke about it here. Chris Brown was supposed to perform a tribute to Michael Jackson. According to sources, Jay-Z and Beyonce pulled a bitch move and said that if Chris Brown performed, they would not! I took to twitter and voiced my disdain for their childish asses! If Rihanna is not angry with Chris, why are you? This was a tribute! It was larger than the both of them but BET wimped out and bumped Chris Brown's performance. Leaving the show with a lot of song homages and no dancing tributes! Yeah, it sucked! Moving on, the Philly children who were denied entrance to the private swimming club, are back in the news. Apparently, the YMCA was refunded their money and the children have been invited to the facility. I am hearing rumblings of a lawsuit but, I don't see it's basis. The one thing the private swim club has on it's side is the fact that they changed their tune, quickly! Had they continued with their stance, there may have been grounds for a lawsuit based on discrimination. Remember, I am not a lawyer so take it with a grain of salt.

I heard about a private swimming club denying African-American children entrance! I thought I was reading about 1920! In 2009 a private swim club is behaving this way? First, let me tell you about my experience with a "private swim club" in my area. I inquired about a membership to a "private swim club" and was astonished at the dues! They definitely make it hard for "us" to be members. The membership called for you to pay $2000.00 for intro fees and stock fees. The annual dues were $504.00! They damn near wanted a credit check! When I went there, I didn't see many children that looked like mine! Consequently, my son said, "I don't want to swim here!" I was so relieved because, truth be told, I didn't want to give them my hard earned $2000.00! So imagine my surprise when I read about Montco! I can't wait until the powers that be jump all over this one! Now, these rednecks won't even take our money? I think that they are afraid that the next Michael Phelps is being groomed! First golf, then tennis and next swimming! Montco, we're coming....

It seems every time I blog, I'm blogging about a death! This time, I'm talking about former QB Steve McNair. McNair died from a fatal gunshot wound at the age of 36. He leaves to cherish his memory a wife, Mechelle, and 4 sons. This would be a normal obit but, there are even sadder circumstances surrounding his death. McNair wasn't alone when he was found dead. A 20 year old female was found dead beside him. The young lady, Sahel Kazemi, was a Dave & Buster employee that McNair was "allegedly" romantically linked to. So his wife can't just grieve! She has to watch reports on the news about him and this woman. My grandmother used to say, "what's done in the dark, will come to light." Sometimes the "light" is tragedy. There has been speculation that the young woman may have committed a murder/suicide. We don't know all the details but, these reports make it even more difficult for his family. Let's keep them in our prayers.

Single Motherhood: A Thankless Job!

I used to think it was a thankless job but, I realized that everyday you enjoy with your child, is thanks! Anyhoo, I started thinking about this when I read an Essence article about Jill Scott. As you know, Jill Scott delivered a healthy baby boy, recently. What you probably didn't know is that she called off her engagement, days later. She had this to say about it, "Sadly, shortly after welcoming their first child, Jill and Lil John Roberts called off their engagement of one year. “He was there and for a couple of days afterwards while I stayed in the hospital, but John and I are no longer together,” she shares. “When you have a baby you’re dealing with a lot of emotions and I don’t know how much of it had to do with us breaking up, but it happens.” That said, the two are completely committed to Jett and plan to raise him together.

“We definitely love our son and we are co-parenting and working on being friends. I have hopes for [Jett] and I’m sure his father will do his part as well.”

I will keep Jill and her family in my prayers. I know how hard it is to raise a boy, alone. I know that they are co-parenting but, realistically, she will have the brunt of the job. Note to Jill: I have been a single mom for 16 years. I relish my duties and I love my job. Oh yeah, I talk crap and moan at times but, I wouldn't trade it for the world. Every day that I look at my son and people say that he is so well-mannered, or that they really like him or I receive notes from his teachers that say, "I enjoyed working with Christian," I feel thanked. Pay close attention to Jett because they grow up too fast! Take nothing for granted.

I am praying that Michael is getting better! The news reports don't look good. There have been reports from news shows that Michael died. Fox News 5 in New York has reported that the pop King passed. Wat we do know is that he was found unconscious and rushed to the hospital. When the paramedics arrived, he was not breathing. The family has been summoned to the hospital and we are all waiting!
