Marion Jones is about to plead guilty to lying to the Feds about her steroid use. Apparently, the FEDS intercepted a letter she wrote to her family admitting her steroid use. She had vehemently denied it during the BALCO investigation. She is facing 6 months in jail but will likely only do 3 months. The father of her son, Timothy Montgomery was stripped of his medals for steroid use and is also facing time for money laundering. I am stunned! I thought she really worked for those medals. Marion may have to return all medals won. Damn! who's next, Oprah? Black folks soar, and get shot down! DAMN! On a brighter note, February 2007, Marion married sprinter Obadele Thompson and they are expecting their first child.

I think she got "shot down" because she did something she wasn't supposed to do. I don't know what prompted Ms. Jones to confess all these things in a letter sent through the U.S. mail, but maybe she wanted to get caught.
Personally, I think don't think steriods should be prohitibed. There will always be someone who comes up with some substance that is effective and undetectable.
Athletes aren't any faster or stronger than they were 70 years ago when Jesse Owens broke records at the Berlin Olympics. And if black people are better athletes than other races (which, I believe, they are), the naturally talented and superior athletes will still rise to the top, but now with no fear of legal retribution.
Besides, maybe then steriods would be regulated, safer and have fewer side effects.
I couldn't agree with you more, Wordswork. I just can't help but feel pissed off when I watch the Olympics and see Russian women who look like men, and Chineses women who look like men but they focus on black athletes. Just an update: Marion's letter was not intercepeted. They had already found out the truth. She just wanted to apologize for her actions. Also, she may or may not be married to Obedele Thompson and she may or may not be pregnant. Damn that wikipedia!
