What In The World........

Is Black Friday that important? Saving $3 makes a crowd murderous? The tragedy at Wal-Mart is disgusting. The people involved feel no remorse. Even after being told to leave because a man was killed, they hollered, "I've been in line since Thursday!" Read the accounts, according to People.com,
"In a hurry to take advantage of holiday discounts at a Long Island, N.Y., Wal-Mart, hundreds of shoppers busted through the store's front door, trampling a maintenance worker to death.

The 34-year-old man, whose name has not been released, tried to contain the growing crowd when the store opened for its annual Black Friday sale at 5 a.m. But shoppers surged into the store, knocking the man down and stepping on him.

"He was bum-rushed by 200 people," co-worker Jimmy Overby, 43, told the New York Daily News. "They took the doors off the hinges. He was trampled and killed in front of me. They took me down too. ... I literally had to fight people off my back."

Emergency crews were called to save the man's life, but shoppers continued to rush past the scene until police shut down the Valley Stream store. The man was then taken to nearby Franklin Hospital, where he was pronounced dead at 6:03 a.m.

Wal-Mart called the death "a tragic situation," in a statement released Friday. "The safety and security of our customers and associates is our top priority."

But Nassau County Det. Lt. Michael Fleming told the New York Times that the store could have worked harder to prevent this situation.

"I've heard other people call this an accident, but it's not," he tells the Times. "This certainly was foreseeable."
Pray for these people! Most importantly, keep the family of the deceased in ya prayers.

Hello!

I am so stuffed I couldn't find gossip. I will say that family can be very funny! Have you ever had good intentions but, because people are trained to be inqusitive and deceitful, they feel your intentions have strings attached? Yeah, well I have learned this first-hand. I have learned that there are 3 people in my life that deserve anything from me. These 3 are the ones that I can ALWAYS depend on. These 3 understand that anything that I give them, I give from my heart, whether they need it or not! They are loyal and respectful. They were raised that way! That's why Thanksgiving was so special for me. I spent the day with 2 of them and the other one was here via Skype. This post is dedicated to the special 3. I love you and thank you for being so instrumental in my life.

As If It Weren't Sad Enough!

The nephew of Donda West, Kanye West's mother, is under investigation in her death. According to People.com, "A year after Kanye_West's mother, Donda, 58, died while recovering from plastic surgery, PEOPLE has learned that California authorities have launched a probe into the possible role of Donda West's nephew, Stephan Scoggins, 46.

A registered nurse, Scoggins was supervising West's post-surgery care with West's assistant and a friend when, according to a source familiar with the situation, he left the house to attend a baby shower the day after West underwent breast augmentation and liposuction last Nov. 10. West died that evening at a Los Angeles hospital.

At the time, the death of the rapper's mother was described by a family spokesman as "the result of complications from a cosmetic surgical procedure," a statement that placed intense scrutiny on West's surgeon, Dr. Jan Adams.

But last January, a Los Angeles coroner ruled that West died of "multiple post-operative factors," effectively clearing Dr. Adams of responsibility.

In this new development, an investigator with the California Department of Consumer Affairs has issued subpoenas asking individuals "to testify in the matter of the investigation of Stephan Scoggins," a source tells PEOPLE.

WEST'S CONDITION
The California Department of Consumer Affairs represents the California Board of Registered Nursing, of which Scoggins is a member. A public information officer for the consumer affairs department, Russ Heimerich, told PEOPLE: "We do not comment on ongoing investigations." Scoggins – who risks losing his nursing license if complaints against him are substantiated – could not be reached for comment.

According to an autopsy report, a heavily-bandaged West was able to walk out of the medical facility after nearly five and a half hours of surgery last November. The report further stated, "[West] opted to return to her home for care even though she was advised that she receive post-operative care at another facility."

That night, West took Vicodin for pain, slept and felt better in the morning. Later in the day, a source tells PEOPLE, Scoggins left West's home to attend a baby shower and was unreachable when her condition worsened. According to the autopsy report, West experienced pain, a sore throat and tightening in her chest before collapsing in the early evening. A friend at the house called 911 and West was taken to a hospital, where she was pronounced dead in the emergency room.

The source also says investigators are looking into the possibility that Scoggins administered too much Vicodin in a short period of time. In an interview with PEOPLE last year, Dr. Adams said he and Scoggins discussed West's care briefly, but did not establish a detailed plan. "There’s no set regimen, like you need to do this and this," he said."

How do you grieve and get over it? This is so sad. Keep Kanye in your prayers.

You Do The Math!!!!

Gabrielle Union was interviewed by the blog Thesebootsweremadeforstalking.com about her new role in the movie Cadillac Records. During the interview, Union said something strange about her co-star Beyonce Knowles. She talked about them knowing each other when they were teenagers. Read on:
BG: One of your co-stars is Beyonce. How was it working with her?

GU: Beyonce and I have been friends since we were teenagers. We go to the same hairstylist now and you know how those bonds are! B is such a polite, nurturing person and a joy to work with. It’s easy to work with her because she is a good friend of mine.

It’s funny because she says how she is so different from Sasha Fierce, her stage ego and it’s true. She isn’t a diva at all but when she steps on stage I sometimes have to ask myself who that person is up there, but as soon as she steps foot off stage she is back to the same nice person I have always known."

Note to readers: The funny thing about her statement is that she was born in 1972 and Beyonce was born in 1981. That is a 9 year difference! How could they be teenagers at the same time? Could Gabby be trying to start that age rumor thing again?

Question?

It has been brought to my attention that during many Barack and Michelle Obama interviews, Michelle has been quite outspoken. Some feel she should fall back and say nothing! Tony Blair (former prime minister of Canada) says she is too talkative. What do you think? Some say that she is perpetuating the stereotype that black women are bossy, mouthy and brass. I say, don't stifle her! She has the right to speak her mind! I don't think she should run the country but when it comes to her husband and kids, she should speak up! Why do people fall for this "she is perpetuating a stereotype" ish? I could care less what people think about black women. You push me and I will be in ya face like Proactive!

Hey Guys...

If the posts are far and few in-between blame it on the fact that I am cooking and preparing for Thanksgiving! I'm also making a list of all the things I am thankful for, this year. So please excuse the laziness!

Ciao!

I Beg Ya Pardon?

President Bush, actually, pardoned someone we know! John Forte, formerly an associate of The Fugees, was pardoned by George Bush according to allhiphop.com. To read all about it go here:

I'm Pissed!!!!

I watched "Dancing With The Stars" last night and I tried to vote for Warren Sapp and was denied! First, there was the recording that said, "Due to technical difficulties the call can't go through!" Then came the busy signal. Finally, when I did get through, I was told that the voting was over for my time zone! This was 10:00 last night! I feel this was orchestrated to make Brooke win and I am not HAPPY! If Warren leaves tonight, I will never watch the show again. I will write letter and put anti-Dancing With The Stars posts daily!

Bear With Me....

This is totally out of the norm for me. While watching the AMA's, I saw a group that stood out! It was New Kids On The Block or NKOTB, if you will. They performed and threw down! I never thought I'd be saying this. Though my blog is, primarily, devoted to African Americans, I listen to all music. Peep this video of their performance and you be the judge:

What The Hell......

Sasha Fierce? Why the pseudonym? If you like it that way, just say so! Some people like to have their ponytail pulled and their pager thrown against the wall! So I've heard! Perhaps Jay-Z has that on lock, also.

Congrats!

Chris Brown won the Artist of The Year Award, last night. I was very happy about this. I think that Chris has been overlooked for quite some time. Kanye West won an award and gave it to Lil Wayne. I don't know what this man wants! If he doesn't get the award, he's pissed, give it to him and he gives it away. The performances were good! I, especially, enjoyed the Pussycat Dolls, Alicia Keys, Ne-Yo and Christina Aguilera. Other than the highlights that I have mentioned, the show was awful. There are so many artists that are receiving no recognition! Most of these people nominated, haven't had a hit in a year! This has got to STOP!

Rest In Peace....

I am truly saddened to hear about the death of rapper, MC Breed. Weeks ago, I wrote about Breed collapsing and suffering kidney failure. According to sources, he died from the disease. Read on:
"Midwest rapper MC Breed, born Eric Breed, was found dead today (Nov. 22) after suffering kidney failure. He was 36. Breed’s manager Darryl Morris confirmed that the rapper was found dead at a friend’s home in Ypsilanti, Michigan, the Detroit News is reporting. In September, Breed collapsed on a basketball court. He was taken to the hospital and put on life support due to kidney failure. He was taken off life support days later, according to SOHH.com. Helping the Mid-West rise to popularity within hip-hop, the Michigan-bred emcee is known for gaining notice as an independent artist with a number of early 1990’s albums, including MC Breed & DFC, 20 Below, The New Breed and Funkafied. Breed’s career spans 20-years and 13 albums. Breed also famously collaborated with various West Coast rap stars including Too Short, Warren G and the late Tupac Shakur."
This saddens me to no end because kidney failure does not have to be fatal. Dialysis is just one of the procedures to combat the disease. African-Americans are, disproportionately, suffering from this disease. Know the causes! High blood pressure, diabetes and illicit drug use are just some of the causes. Get checked! R.I.P. to MC Breed and my prayers are with his family.
