Movie Review!

I saw Tropic Thunder today. You know, the movie with Ben Stiller and Robert Downey Jr. and Jack Black? It was funny! I can see where people were boycotting about the references to "retarded people." Fortunately, during the movie the whole thing was explained. I won't give too many details but, it wasn't what people thought. I actually, enjoyed the movie. I laughed and it was a great escape. There is alot of crude language but, you'll love it!

Sidenote: Mathew Mcconaughy and Tom Cruise have small parts in the movie and they are hilarious!

A Fitting Tribute!

Bernie Mac was laid to rest today at a church on the southside of Chicago. Oprah Winfrey and Barack Obama sent their condolences. According to People.com, "Chris Rock, Steve Harvey, Cedric the Entertainer and Rev. Jesse Jackson attended the emotional service, in which photos from the comedian's career were shown on projectors and the White Sox organization presented Mac's widow Rhonda with a No. 1 jersey bearing his name." The mayor of Chicago spoke highly of Bernie during the service. He will be truly missed....

Why Are They Playing?

I knew they weren't going to divorce, from the get go. Shaq played the old "I'm in trouble so I'm going to ask for a divorce trick!" Sort of like the old "start an argument to get out with the boys trick!" He knew that Kobe had told the police and the world about his trickin and he thought he'd better strike first. Childish! Read what Shaunie said about the divorce:

During an interview about the launch of her new video-sharing Web site, Shaunie O’Neal told The Associated Press that the couple plans to stop divorce proceedings soon. “Neither one of us could probably answer why we were getting one in the first place,” Shaunie O’Neal said. Shaquille O’Neal filed for divorce in Miami-Dade Circuit Court in September 2007, after nearly five years of marriage. “Things have been going so great, that someone actually had to remind us that ‘Hey, you do remember those papers are still there.’ Literally, it was days ago,” Shaunie O’Neal said. “So, we’ve agreed that before we leave Florida in a few days we’ll make sure that that’s gone away.”
The couple has six children: four together, and each had one of their own before the Dec. 26, 2002, wedding. “The kids and I kind of learned about the divorce at the same time,” Shaunie O’Neal said. “So that was hard. That was probably the worst part of the whole thing, was being able to deal with how hurt the whole kids were."

I am happy they are staying together! Shaq needs to get his ish together!

Remy-Ma and Papoose (rapper) have indeed tied the knot on Riker's Island. Remember, Remy is serving eight years for shooting a friend in the stomach over money. They honeymooned on death row and the guests were served baloney and cheese GRILLED sandwiches! LOL No, seriously, they were hitched!

Long Story Let Me Break It Down!

Lisa Raye-Misick (All Of Us) was married to the Prime Minister of Turks And Caicos. Many rumors of their break up have been surfacing, since the wedding. Anyhoo, recently it has been claimed that Mr. Misick is having an affair with Rocsi (the host of 106 & Park on BET). Fast forward to August 10th, Page Six reported that Lisa Raye had moved back to the mansion in Turks and Caicos. August 13th, Mr. Misick announces he is dissolving the marriage. Well, Tuesday night there was a physical altercation between the couple. Now, Lisa Raye-Misick has issued this response to her cheating husband.

Senator Obama was in Kailua Hawaii, vacationing with his family. He took a little stroll with his eldest daughter, Malia. This is what a FATHER does! This is an American family. This is how it used to be before people stopped caring about family and thinking only about self!

I Can't Believe She Did It!!!

Tyra Banks shot an episode for "The Tyra Banks Show" with all the African American models that graced the all-black Vogue issue. I can't believe she shared the stage with these beauties. You know Tyra likes to out-do everybody! I had a 90 pound baby! Tyra would say, "I had a 99 pound baby!" Anyhoo here she is with just a few models (from left) Veronica Webb, Chanel Iman, Beverly Johnson and Noemie Lenoir . Black is ageless! These ladies were varying ages and can still do printwork! Kudos!

Why????

I stayed up last night and watched the Men's relay swim race on NBC. I saw how France was handing America a royal a$$ whooping! Michael Phelps and the second swimmer, Garret Weber-Gale, were not helping! Cullen Jones (who happens to be black) was the third swimmer and he pulled America closer for the last leg of the race. When , Jason Lezak (the last swimmer), took the water he was just a smidgen behind. He rallied and brought America back for the win. Remember, before Cullen Jones took the water, America was a full body length behind! Why have the correspondents and everyone counted out Cullen? They said he didn't swim as fast as he was supposed to etc. Yet, America was supposed to lose to France! If Cullen hadn't closed that gap, Lezak would have never came back the way he did. I watched Cullen Jones watching the replay and he and I heard the announcer say, "Cullen not pulling his end of the leg the way he should!" Cullen's smile disappeared and he said, "Thanks alot!" That pissed me off! Are they that afraid that this sport, too, will be dominated? Get ya ish together! BEEEYOTCHES!

Sidenote: I grew up with an Olympic sized swimming pool from the age of 4! My mother, my sister, my son and myself are card carrying swimmers! My son is going out for the swim team this year! So, yes some of us do float!

In Hip-Hop News....

Rapper Rick Ross is being sued in a Florida court for child support. He has a two year old son and is being asked to take a paternity test and pay for the child's maintenance. This comes on the heels of flack that Ross has been receiving about being a correction officer in his early 20's. This sounds like nothing but, he has sold music and maintained that he is rich from drug proceeds. In other news, Reggae Rapper, Sean Paul has been arrested in Sweden in an undercover drug sting. He was "allegedly" spotted on the streets smoking marijuana. I don't know why they arrested him! I said he is a "Reggae Rapper!"

Sidenote: If there comes a need for a person to play Isaac Hayes in a movie, Rick Ross has it hands down!

I saw this picture of Rihanna and thought she looked beautiful. Many try to compare her with others but, she really is a classy individual. I like the way that she and hris Brown are dealing with their relationship. They don't, necessarily, deny and they don't mind being photographed. Cute

Rest In Peace to Isaac Hayes! Another wonderful entertainer gone! Isaac Hayes passed away today at the age of 65. His family found him unconscious next to a running treadmill. He will be surely missed. He was a bad motha-Shut yo mouth!
