Will Smith plays Gardner as he climbs to success as an executive of a top stock brokerage firm. Christmas is going to busy for moviegoing. Note to self: Bring tissue for this one. Damn it feels good to see a brother up on it!!!!

Get this, Jason Alexander, Britney Spears first husband, says that Kevin Federline made an idiot of himself. When asked did he think Kevin married Britney for her money he said"I don't know but, ever since they've been married, all he's done is spend money!" He also went on to say "Kevin won't get custody of the kids because he can't take care of the two he had!" Sounds like someone is a little salty! Could it be the fact that he didn't even get a chance to buy a Pepsi with her money? Their marriage was annulled after only 55 hours. He also said " call me, I'm a good guy to talk to. I still love her." Awww, how cute! Yeah right! He sounds like he's trying for another rebound bid. They married right after she split from Justin Timberlake. Note to Jason: Stop being rebound man and move on!! You are not the person to say someone else made an idiot of themselves. Your marriage lasted how long? Oh that's right, there never was a marriage!!!

Gerald Levert, Dies at age 40

Sad news in R&B today. It appears that singer Gerald Levert has passed on, from an apparent heart attack. His family says he passed in his sleep today, at his home in Newbury, OH. Gerald, the son of Eddie Levert(O'Jays) was 40 years old. I'm going to miss the "Velvet Teddy Bear." There will never be another like Gerald....

GIRL, WHAT IS WRONG WITH YOU?

I am all for forgiveness and everything but, she's gone too far. Shar Jackson has been on TV, saying nicey-nice things about Kevin Federline. At first I thought, she' s crazy . I would not grant anymore interviews about him. In order to not say anything disparaging about my child's father, I'd plead the fifth! Now perhaps she's calculating. If Kevin does get custody of his children with Britney, Shar's child support payments may continue. Thus the comments about him being a very good good person. This is my guess. If this is not the case, maybe you should take my advice. Note to Shar: Call me girl!!!!

Tyler Perry's new movie!

I just watched the trailer for Tyler Perry's new movie entitled, "Daddy's Little Girls." From all appearances, it's going to be a very sweet movie. It stars Gabrielle Union and Idris Elba(The Wire). The movie is due out in February, just in time for Valentine's Day. Without giving it all away, it's about a man who is fighting to retain custody of his three daughters. Gabrielle plays an attorney he hires to help. This is a love story with comedy and raw emotion. As always, Tyler explores faith, family and class. I can't wait to see it! Note to Tyler: Where's Madea?

Sad day in jounalism! Ed Bradley, an African American staple in broadcast journalism, succumb to Leukemia today. Those of us who have followed his career, are truly saddened. His trademark earring and gray hair and beard, will be missed!

The First 48!

The First 48, is another of my guilty pleasures. This is a police reality show. They follow detectives as they try to solve murders in the first 48 hours. I love this show! Why is it that people think they are going to get away with murder? This show lets you know that family and friends will turn you in. It also shows the sneaky tactics detectives use to coerce confessions. Thursday nights at 9, I'm watching A&E. Note to self: Don't kill, or steal or lie. Oh hell, be good!

Comedian Bill Cosby, settled a civil lawsuit filed by a 30 something female, who claimed he drugged and sexually assaulted her. The terms of the settlement are being held close to the chest. The female said that she considered Mr. Cosby a friend/mentor. She came to his house and was allegedly given pills and assaulted while under the influence. In his defense, Mr. Cosby said, the woman complained of stress and trouble sleeping, so he gave her over-the-counter Benadryl. O.K., his story sounds plausible! NOT!!! Note to Mr. Cosby: Surely, after all of your book writing, you could have come up with something better than that!!!!

Chris Webber, according to www.allhiphop.com, is opening six family-themed restaurants. The first is scheduled to open in Sacramento,CA. Of course, this is where he spent a great deal of his career. Hopefully, he won't forget about Detroit. After all, he should put one in Ann Arbor, it can replace the championships that were taken away, because of him. I'm not bitter though!!! Lisa-Raye married Michael Mckissick, Prime Minister of Turks and Caicos, earlier this year in a lavish wedding. I know it was lavish because I watched it on Cable! Note to Lawyers: Somebody is getting paid! How can I be down???

Tonight is THE Night!

Ok., tonight we find out who goes to the finals on Dancing With The Stars! It's between Emmit, Mario and Joey. Personally, Joey can leave now! I think that Joey and Mario, take the masculinity out of the dancing. The tight pants, the wiggling, it's not sexy. I love Emmit because he tackles the dancing as if he were at a basement party. He has fun. I have a bit of a dilemma, I have to either watch Dancing or America's Next Top Model!!! Fortunately, I have a DVR. This, of course, doesn't help me decide which one to watch and which one to record. Damn!!! Damn!!! Damn!!!

A Sad Day....

Apparently, Proposal 2 was passed. This means that the playing field will no longer be evened. If you needed that extra push to enter certain schools, and you are a minority, you will no longer get it. Therefore, if you are Black, Hispanic, Asian, Middle Eastern or female, you had better be on your "A" game. This all started when a white girl was denied entrance to University of Michigan, and she felt that a less qualified black girl took her spot, because of Affirmative Action. Haven't people, like her, gotten over all their lives by using, what I call, Affirming Action! If you feel me people, holla back!!!

Also, when you meet a man with one child and one on the way, leave him where he stands! Make certain that he has put a period on his relationship! Apparently, Diddy has told Essence Magazine that he is not ready to marry, longtime girlfriend, Kim Porter. I know people will disagree with me but, I understand him. He also went on to say that "I am just learning to be a better boyfriend, when I finish this phase, I'll be ready!" I can totally understand that! Look at the rate of the divorces! Dear Terrence....

I love hip-hop! I'll say it again, I love hip-hop!! Recently while driving I heard a song that totally rejuvenated me. That song was "Whoop that trick," from the movie "Hustle and Flow." Ordinarily a song like that would incite a riot but, it invigorated me. I love the fact that Terrence Howard did the rapping. I hate when a song is recorded by one person, in the movie, and someone else on the soundtrack. Sorry I digressed! Anyhoo, I started to think about how amazing he is. I thought about his performance in "Crash", his performance in "The Best Man" and of course "Hustle and Flow." What really took me,was the fact that not only did he rap well(which believe me people, is not as easy as it looks!) but he spit the song and never lost the fake Memphis accent. How many people can do that! How many people can act so well, that the world stands up and takes notice of a song called "It's Hard Out Here For A Pimp." Not just take notice but, give it that Oscar.. Bellisimo, Terrence,Bellisimo!

"THE LAST KING OF SCOTLAND"

I'm sure that title means nothing to you, yet. This is a movie following the life and times of Idi Amin. Some say a vicious dictator, others beg to differ. Well, we'll just see for ourselves, won't we. Forrest Whitaker will portray Amin, so we know it's going to be good. Mr. Whitaker is another of my fave actors, with little recognition. He stepped into the show "The Shield," and blew it away. Anyhoo, critics say he is destined for an Oscar. To this I say, is he naked, no he's corrupt. That keeps in line with my theory. I'm going to check it out when it comes out. Care to join me?

DREAMGIRLS! COMING IN DECEMBER!!!

O.K., I went to www.Dreamgirlsmovie.com. I have to say it was a pretty page, informative, no. It simply said coming in December. Whenever it comes, I'll be first in line to see it. I hear there are Oscar-worthy performances. But we all know, you may get a NAACP award or a BET award, but an Oscar! Somebody would have to get naked for that. You know we can't get statue without being naked or corrupt. Hopefully, the wonderful portrayal of Ray Charles, by Jamie Foxx, will wake up those judges. I'm just saying, I won't hold my breath... Note to Dreamworks: That wig on Eddie Murphy is wrong, son!!!

Listen up world, I just have one thing to say. I started this blog because, I felt that I had some original things to say! I have read some reports that insinuate that someone( no name was mentioned) was stealing ones "swagger." Let me first and foremost say that I have gossiped all of my life. I am in no way a "swaggerjacker." I don't even use those types of words. Please note that the internet is for all to see. Perhaps, what one reads on my blog, is put in a way that you have not. Sources have been reporting that Diddy wants to be the first black James Bond! I say let him. He can wear those sharp suits and we might get a nice soundtrack out of it. I know he is sometimes overexposed but, I think I like him better than the new one. He just looks too rugged to be James Bond. 007 gets caught but, he's always calm under pressure. Who better to do that than Diddy? I mean he's keeping his composure, while his artist swirl down the toilet. I'm just sayin, give the brother a chance. I know that I said I wasn't getting involved in politics but, there is something that is bothering me. That is Proposal 2. This proposal seeks to end Affirmative Action. Affirmative Action is not just an African american tool. We as women, we as Latinos, we as Asians need to stand up and support it. Now don't get confused by it. It seems it should be Vote yes but, that's deceptive. If you are still confused, remember this mantra: "If you don't want Affirmative Action to go, when you go to the polls on Proposal 2 vote NO! Thanks Brian! Keep children off the streets, and in College! Good Lookin Out!!!

It's Sunday night and my heart is palpitating. Think you know? You have no idea! The real reason is "PRISON BREAK", Tonight. Don't call my phone, don't call my name between the hours of 8p.m. and 9p.m. I have DVR and can't bear to tape it. I MUST watch it as soon as it comes on. You know what else is the fire? The Wire on HBO. I thought I would not be able to watch it with Stringer Bell dead, and Avon Barksdale in jail. They captivated me again! These shows are What's up!

HAZELWOOD, UP TO NO GOOD!

Nelly and his merry band of St. Lunatics, have opened Macks Bar and Grill, in Hazelwood, MO. According to www.AllHipHop.com, the bar/restaurant is 3,500 SQ. feet, and accomodates 150 people. If Hazelwood sounds familiar, it's because Ali( a member of the St. Lunatics) was tasered over 50 times by the police, after a traffic stop. Not only did they arrest and threaten him but, he actually lost control of his bowels and was charged with Defacing Police Property. Now ain't that some ish!!!

According to Teairra Mari's official website, she is no longer with the ROC but, she has inked a new deal with Def Jam. I will find out when her next album will drop. Stay Tuned! Note to self: Buy sound proof ear plugs!
