I Was Thinking The Same Thing!
Alicia Keys graced the cover of "Giant" magazine. She talked about couples being photographed in precarious places. She said, “I was looking at a magazine earlier and thinking, ‘How is it that two people are on a boat in the middle of the ocean and there’s a picture of them there? Like, seriously, how does somebody know when you’re gonna be on a boat in the middle of the ocean? That’s crazy!” Could she be talking about Beyonce and Jay-Z? Is she trying to say that these couples tip the papparazzi off? I'm not putting words in her mouth but, read between the lines! I was thinking the same thing! She is photographed with Kerry Krucial at functions but not on vacation. A relationship can be kept low-key, if you want it to.

Steve Harvey In Trouble!
Steve Harvey is in court regarding his, alleged, shady divorce dealings. Mary Harvey is alleging that Steve Harvey and the family attorney duped her into thinking that she didn't need to seek alternate counsel. Because of this she lost out on alimony and child support and the division of assets was wrong. Steve appeared in court and the judge wanted to see documentation of his assets. He went on to say that if Steve Harvey didn't show his assets, he would be dealt with. That sounds like contempt of court, to me. Lord, I hope they don't put him in jail! That means they will have to look under that toupee for contraband! LOL Don't look like that! Ya'll knew he wore a toupee! Look back at the old "Def Comedy Jam" DVD. His hair was thin as a cracker!
Update: Steve Harvey has also remarried recently. The former Mrs. Harvey alleges that the reason he rushed the divorce was so that his cheating and abuse was not revealed to the public. She also says that he does nothing for his child. He pays $1,000 a month child support. Damn, Mr. Hightower!

Myalcardial Infarct For $1,000, Please!
Finally!
Finally, somebody is taking a stand against R. Kelly. "Protest Against Pedophiles" will be protesting R. Kelly when he comes to the Los Angeles Forum, this weekend. The Forum is owned by a church. They said, “How can the church allow R. Kelly to perform on Friday night, have service on Sunday morning and believe all is well? The message the church is sending to young children is that money is more important than taking a stand in support of victims who have been victimized by R. Kelly and other child molesters.” Amen!

December's "Who's Hot"
You may recognize my choice for "Who's Hot" as a very funny comedian and actor. You've seen him in "B.A.P.S." as Halle Berry's boyfriend. He's also been on "ComicView" many times. His name is Pierre and he's about to step behind the camera and crack us up! His movie "Da Love Of Money" premieres on December 18th on BET. I talked with Pierre and found there's much more to him than a "lightskin" funny man...
On-an-poppin: So, Pierre, where are you from?
Pierre:First of all thanks for interviewing me, I truly appreciate it.
I'm from Wash DC where so many great comics came from, I came up with Tommy Davidson, Martin Lawrence, Dave Chappelle, Wanda Sykes, Monique, DC has so many crazy people.
On-an-poppin: When did you first realize you were funny?
Pierre: I was always good at "jonesin'" (talking bout folks) people tried me cause I was cute, had what they thought was good hair, and skinny..lol But I'm can act more "ni99afied" than the next dude..lol I use to like it when someone tried me.
On-an-poppin: What comedians inspired you, and why?
Pierre: Both my parents are very funny. You'd be surprised how off the hook they are and Eddie Murphy...when I seen him. I knew what I wanted to do, for the rest of my life and I was 17yrs old.
On-an-poppin: I see you're going behind the camera. What made you want to go behind the scenes?
Pierre: Yeah I had to get behind the camera, I have too many ideas and I KNOW what's funny, I try to express it the best way in my previous movies but the directors are only going to let me do so much, this way with me writing, directing and producing I can give you what I'm thinking.
On-an-poppin: Which do you like most acting, stand-up or producing?
Pierre: There's no one over the other, it's almost like asking which one of your children is your favorite, 1 day one might be more than the other, but at the end of the day you LOVE them crazy lil ones all the same, hey YOU chose to have them.
On-an-poppin: Tell me about the movie you're producing that premieres on BET on December 18th.
Pierre: I wrote this movie in about a month, filmed it in 14 days and spent 70k of my own money making, because I would hear people asking me when I was going to be in another movie, people fail to realize Hollywood only makes about 4 all black movies a YEAR! There are 1000's trying for those parts. I got very close on several roles, so I said "hey I'll make my own and see what happens" I put about 30 comics in it and made sure my crew was 80% black. Even though at times it could be stressful I had the greatest time. There are a lot of comics who had never been in anything prior to this and now have been in several tv shows and movies. BET is really excited about this film, they feel like they are premiering it to the world. Well at least black folk..lol
On-an-poppin: Any more projects in the works?
Pierre: Another movie and I'm on tour with a play "Heaven I Need A Hug" with Robin Givens and Ruben Studard
On-an-poppin: You were in one of my favorite movies, B.A.P.S., with Halle Berry. How was it working with Halle?
Pierre: Halle Berry was great, she chose me out of all the actors she met. And I'll always be thankful for that. People always tell me what a good job I did in that movie, but truly it was my first movie and it was all her, she is so good, it made me look good....Thanks Halle :)
On-an-poppin: Do you still keep in touch?
Pierre: No, and no I'm not the baby's father..I wish ..lol
On-an-poppin: What would people be shocked to know about you?
Pierre: How much I care about people.
On-an-poppin: What do you want people to know about Pierre?
Pierre: That people should watch my movie For Da Love of Money and the contact BET and tell them how much you enjoyed it at
www.tvviewerscomments@bet.com
Again Thank you for interviewing me.
I reached out to Pierre via myspace. He happens to be a friend of mine. He was very kind and "real" and I appreciate that. Not only is he talented, he is very down-to-earth. Watch "Da Love Of Money" on December 18th on BET. Support African -American movies and tell BET and other networks we need more. That's What's Hot!!!!
Driveby?
Indiana Pacer Jamal Tinsley was shot at while leaving a club in Indiana. Apparently Jamal and friends arrived at the club driving a "Rolls Royce". This angered some rednecks (I mean residents) and they shot at them. Jamals's friends chased them and shot back. No one, reportedly, was hit. First, Reggie Miller's home is burned to the ground, now this? Somebody needs to move this ball franchise to a more friendly state. At least a state with fewer haters!
Diddy Really Love Her?
23 Months?
Michael Vick has been sentenced to 23 months in prison. The prosecution was suggesting less time. The judge also made it known that Michael cannot appeal the sentence. This means that Michael Vick will be out of the NFL for at least 2 more years. All of this for a dog? People are killing people! People are making homeless human beings fight! They should get 5 years! I'm outraged!
Will She Be Enough?
Oprah has been campaigning for Barack Obama. Can she turn America around? He has my vote! Not because of Oprah, but because he is an eloquent well-spoken and well-rounded individual. A man with a sense of family and morals! That's something new to the White House. When giving her speech Oprah said, "I'm here because of my personal conviction about Barack Obama and what I know he can do for America. I second that emotion! Go Obama!
Update: Will Smith has thrown his hat into the ring. Will has contacted Barack Obama and asked him to "just let him know when he needs him". I'm glad to see that more actors are showing support!
Happy Birthday!

Never Honeymoon With Your Ex!
That's something my Grandmother and Mother used to tell me. In other words, if you break it off with your boyfriend, never casually date him. You obviously ended it for a reason. You may remain friends but dating can be dangerous. Lately, we've seen what it can do. Nailah Franklin reported threats from her estranged boyfriend but never got the restraining order. I wonder if that would have saved her life? They say that women are far more emotionally involved in relationships, I beg to differ. These crimes against women have been emotionally charged. Men are not immune to emotions. They just show them in a different way. If you feel that a relationship can't go on, then don't let it. If you have that feeling, follow your gut. During a relationship, never let him/her know all of your friends and where they live. This way if you need to get away, you can. Take all threats seriously! Contact the police and take all steps to keep a barrier between you and the ex. Relocate, if you can. Remember, when a person snaps, you can't say what he/she will do. Remember, to never honeymoon with your ex. It will keep feelings in perspectives. It might also save your life.
Ex-Boyfriend Charged With Killing Nailah Franklin!
According to the Chicago Tribune: A high-tech analysis of cell-phone records shattered the alibi of Reginald Potts, leading to his arrest for the murder of his former girlfriend, pharmaceutical rep Nailah Franklin, Chicago Police said today in announcing his arrest.
Investigators also collected physical evidence and determined that witnesses did not confirm Potts' alibi for where he was the day in September that the 28-year-old Franklin was killed, authorities said.
Reginald Potts (inset), 30, of Chicago, is being held on first-degree murder charges in the death of 28-year-old Nailah Franklin.

"Today, a family is relieved, a community is at peace and a murderer is behind bars," Interim Police Supt. Dana Starks said at a news conference at Chicago Police headquarters.
The disappearance of the successful Franklin captured the city's attention, as did the frequent public statements of Potts, a 31-year-old real estate investor with a history of having trouble with police.
Potts has said he had nothing to do with the murder.
"I may talk a lot of s--- - pardon my language - but me putting my hands on somebody isn't really happening," Potts said in an October interview with the Sun-Times.
Investigators were never swayed by "his antics," police said.
FBI agents pulled the cell phone records of both Franklin and Potts, and were able to determine through a high-tech analysis that they were in the same geographic area the time of her murder, authorities said.
Potts, who already was in jail for aggravated battery of a police officer in a separate incident, did not confess to the crime, and was described as somewhat defiant and uncooperative by authorities.
"It's believed he acted alone," Area 4 Police Cmdr. Steve Petersen said.
Franklin's family praised police and said they were confident justice would be served.
"I know that everything done in the dark will come to light, and I know that justice will be done," said Ashley Chappell, one of Nailah Franklin's sisters.
At a press conference, family and friends said they knew they had a long road ahead but said they were focusing on Franklin's positive legacy.
"We feel her every day spiritually and that keeps us going," said her mother, Maria Maner, who spoke at the news conference via speakerphone from her home in North Carolina.
In the days before Nailah Franklin was killed, she had received a threatening phone call from Potts and had reported it to police, who urged her to get an order of protection.
Franklin was in the process of doing that when she was slain, police said.
Police officials would not discuss a motive, which remains under investigation, but a source said there is a strong possibility that a strained relationship between the two led Potts to kill Franklin.
The cause of Franklin's death is still pending police investigation, according to the Cook County Medical Examiner's office.
