Zulekah Haywood, was born and raised in Michigan by her father, Spencer Haywood. I have heard her talk about her child with David Bowie but, never this daughter. WHY? Iman, 51?

Yes it's true Iman is 51. She's not celebrating her birthday. She's promoting an auction to benefit the charity "Keep A Child Alive." This charity gives healthcare and medicine to children affected with HIV and AIDS. Some of the things being auctioned are the chance to co-name a AIDS clinic in Africa, A private concert by Alicia Keys and a walk-on role in a Spike Lee movie. Hopefully the charity will make lots of money but, most importantly, AWARENESS.

Are We That Desperate?

Eva Pigford has a new show on BETJ called "My Model Looks Better Than Your Model." I saw clipse of the show. Personally, I was mortified! The contestants were trying to hard. I know it was a contest but, all the neck rolling and hip rolling and hating was a bit excessive. It was as if they told them to be as ghetto as you possibly can! Oh, and did I mention that the contestants are to style a model for a certain occasion? They style the model and then direct a photo shoot. The clothes were awful. Ill-fitting mini skirts, pink furs and hideous wigs. I'll pass on this show! Give me "Project Runway" anyday.

Big Gipp, formerly of the Goodie Mobb, is known for his "strange antics" and clothes but, what the f___? He is currently doing shows with Ali, St. Lunatics, to promote their album. Note to ANYONE: Tap that man on the shoulders and point him in the direction of a bath and a barber! This is damn ridiculous!

I'LL BET YOU THINK I FORGOT!!

Please, I didn't forgot about those 7 guards and 1 nurse, being charged with the death of 14 year old, Martin Lee Anderson, a boot camp prisoner. We all saw the pictures. This was not a "racial" assault. This was an inhumane killing. The guards held Anderson, constricting his airways, and then to get him to regain consciousness, they shoved ammonia capsules up his nose. These antics went on, while a nurse stood by and watched. The first autopsy said he died from complications of Sickle Cell. The second autopsy said the young man died from having his breathing constricted and then having his airways blown up with the ammonia fumes. This all occured in Florida. Jeb Bush country! The charges have prompted Florida to discontinue Boot Camps for juvenile offenders. Note to readers: Didn't I say it was "open season?" Hopefully they will be convicted and made to cell with victims of their abuse!

According to The New York Post, Suge has called Snoop Dogg a "crybaby." When asked how it is that Snoop can be arrested 3 times and spend no time in jail, Suge said, "Snoop is a crybaby and a snitch." He alluded to the fact that Snoop is afraid to go to jail because he thinks Suge's "friends" will harm him there. How long is this "Beef" going to continue? 50 Cent, never known to hold his tongue, is lashing out at Oprah. I'm not happy about this but, this is a free country. 50 says,"Oprah used to talk about black females issues but, somewhere along the line, she turned the issues into white middle-age females issues." He also went on to say that her billionaire status attracts black females but, she does not cater to their needs. I'm paraphrasing here. I agree on a certain level but, Oprah helps far more than she hurts. 50, listen to me, there are so many who need to be called on the carpet. Oprah is far from the top of the list. Even if her issues have shifted, she has done so much for children and Africans and African Americans. Remember the schools she just built in Africa? Oprah has never asked to be a leader of black people! Now Jesse Jackson has, and he is paying child support for a baby born from an extra-marital affair. Why is he not called on the carpet? Keep it real people! I love you 50 but, your male counterparts aren't angels! Oh, and Black females aren't attracted to Oprah for her billions. We are atrracted to her because she is a smart, well-spoken, savvy businesswoman. We all aspire to be her. Her giving nature should be practiced by ALL. I hear L.L. Cool J is planning a dis record about Jay-Z. Why? Is L.L. still salty about not getting that cushy position at Def Jam? You know he wanted the job that Jay-Z holds? According to AllHipHop.com the young man feels he has something to say. I watched the series "Run's House," and I saw him spit, he was pretty good. Jo-Jo says he learned from his father and uncle, Russell Simmons, that, in life, if you take shortcuts, you get cut short. I couldn't have said it better myself. Snoop He Did It Again!!

Snoop Dogg was arrested, again, Tuesday following an appearance on "The Tonight Show." Police pulled Snoop and friends/bodyguards over and conducted a search. They found marijuana, of course, and cocaine and a weapon. They also found a secret compartment in the vehicle. Is it me or are they following Snoop? He needs to scale down the entourage. This is his third run-in with the law, this year! I pray he changes his ways. At this rate he will be walking a blue carpet to jail. Note to Snoop: Somebody has it in for you! Stick to the Gin and Juice and don't drive!

According to Hip-Hop Times, 50 Cent is planning to put some old soul on his next project. 50 says, " I 've been listening to Smokey Robinson and I put some soulful loops on my projects." Our Prayers go out to the entire Bettis family today. Mr. Johnny Bettis, father of hometown hero Jerome Bettis, died of an apparent heart attack. Mr. Bettis is a hero, despite losing his life. He was driving when he suffered the attack and pulled over, possibly saving the lives of others. Keep the Bettis family in your prayers. Personally I could care less about either of them but, I think that Britney is trashy. All of Britney's poor judgements have been blamed on others. For all the "Prisonbreak" fans, The show returns on January 22nd. I thought I would have to wait until March. Tonight was so exciting! I could not take my eyes off the tube. Do you know someone ad the nerve to call me? They almost felt my wrath but, they were telemarketers. Mondays are going to be sooo boring! I need a replacement...Note to self: Don't you have something more productive to be doing? Like blogging?

DON'T GET MARRIED IN NEW YORK!

At least don't have your bachelor party there! I took my time with this story because I wanted to measure my words. Saturday morning Sean Bell 23, lost his life at the hands of the NYPD. Sean was to marry later that day. The story is sketchy, at best, but police opened fire on unarmed occupants of a car. Firing 50 shots in all. Did I mention these were undercover police? Wake up people! It's open season. Al Sharpton is leading the inquiry for the family. Sometimes I wish there was someone else to lead but, as long as someone comes up. The Mayor seems to be outraged but, New York is notorious for aquitting their wayward cops. Let's just hope its not "Business as usual." My prayers go out to the family of Sean Bell and I wish a full recovery to Joseph Guzman 31, and Trent Benefield 23.

Michael Richards apologized on the Jesse Jackson radio show Sunday. I didn't listen but, I hear it was sincere. As sincere as he can get. Paul Mooney was also on the show. A press conference was held after. I know you're saying "Nobody called ME!" Anyhoo, a pledge was taken. Jesse Jackson asked people of color to stop using the "N" word. I have lately tried to do that. I've replaced the word with "brother," or "sister." So far it's working but, I haven't been very angry lately. It's so like the media to turn this incident around on us. Now it's OUR fault this man used this word that didn't originate from US. Note to the BLACK LEADERS: Stop selling out. Either accept the apology or not. Stop blaming US for the actions of the ignorant.

Three different weddings. Endless canoodling. Now it's over? Pamela Anderson Lee and Kid Rock are calling it quits! People, it's only been 4 months! Stop saying "I Do," when you're not sure you can. Russell Simmons has landed in South Africa on a fact-finding mission. Simmons wants to find out how the diamond industry can better the lives of African Americans. There is so much inequality in the lives of our people, as far as education and opportunities are concerned. Hopefully he can find some answers. Minister Farrakhan suggested the trip. Russel Simmons is scheduled to give a press statement. I'll keep you posted.

I watched "Brokeback Mountain" last night. I am so tired of people saying it was a love story. I feel that is just an excuse for two men behaving in risky behavior behind their wives backs. If you notice they set the story in the 70's. If it was an up to date story, that would have been on the down low, and in the era of A.I.D.S. I found it despicable that the two were in loveless marriages and still didn't want to leave. The one wife had enough gall to leave. It wasn't about love anyway. The one cowboy (Jake Gyllenhal), went to Mexico and picked up a male prostitute. So obviously, he was attracted to more than just Jack (Heath Ledger). So please, spare me the love story. I am all for love, no matter with whom it occurs but, don't try to fool us. The story was about a gay cowboy, who was promiscuous. It's not pretty but, it's true. Note To ALL readers: December 1st is World AIDS Day, Get tested. We can stand up and shut this disease down! PROTECT YOURSELF, ALWAYS!!!!!!
