Tina, Remember Ike?

I'm sure you remember the hoopla when Beyonce called Tina Turner "The Queen?" After that, Aretha Franklin issued a statement saying that she is "The Quen!" Well, now Tina Turner has responded by saying, "Aretha has always been like that. We’ve always accepted that from her. She’s the queen of soul, and I’m the queen of rock ‘n’ roll. There were so many kings and queens there that night. Her ego must be so big to think she was the only one. That’s how queens are!” Oh, it doesn't end there! Aretha Franklin has countered with, "I have always appreciated what Tina Turner has to offer and had quietly cheered her on after Ike and her subsequent success. However, with respect to her statement concerning my ego clearly she was talking about herself as she described herself as the 'Queen of Rock' and saying 'that's what Queens do' — particularly since she does not have a clue as to who I am in view of the fact that we have never met.
I never figured her to resort to tacky press just to sell a few tickets. I understand and I know that the concert market is down where ticket sales are concerned. I really had put her in a different class — higher than that.
Finally, no one has been more gracious or complimentary to their peers than I have and I am confident and secure enough to do so, unlike some others. I wish Ms. Turner all the best, as I always have. Perhaps one day we will meet."

Note to Tina: Aretha Franklin spends alot of time in the kitchen, she knows how to use a knife! I'd end this now, if I were you!

Note to Aretha: Tina is pretty lethal with a boot, just ask Ike!

Mea Culpa!!

I am so sorry for not posting yesterday! I was having a "Palin" moment! You know when you don't know anything! Anyhoo, I'm black (typo but, I'm keepin it!)

Mariah Went All Out!

Mariah Carey went all out for a birthday party for her hubby, Nick Cannon. They celebrated at Pure in Las Vegas and stayed at the Bellagio! The cake is beautiful! Why does everything they do look like a publicity stunt?

You Be The Judge!!!

Halle Berry has been saying that she and Gabriel are trying to give Nahla a sibling. I think they have already succeeded! Take a look at her belly! I see a baby pooch! What do you think?

Esquire's "Sexiest Woman Alive!"

Halle Berry! Many would agree! Halle graces the cover of Esquire"s November issue and has this to say about being "sexy," "I don't know exactly what it means, but being 42 and having just had a baby, I think I'll take it," says Berry, who gave birth to her daughter, Nahla, in March. Halle has defied the odds and had a baby, late in life, and got back to her incredible shape! Kudos! It took me a year! Kudos!

Movie Review!

I was dragged, kicking and screaming, to see "Miracle At St. Anna"! This was the Spike Lee movie based on a true story about a man, in 1983, that shot and killed a man in the Post Office. While investigating the shooter, police searched his apartment and found a missing Italian artifact worth millions of dollars. The movie goes back to the Buffalo Soldiers and why this man came to shoot and kill the man in the Post Office. It was a bit long but, overall, it was an OKAY movie. It starred Laz Alonso, Derek Luke, Michael Ealy and Omar Benson Miller. I didn't like Laz Alonso in the lead role! I thought he overacted, at times. Derek Luke and Michael Ealy are better actors and their roles were insignificant. Either of the two could have played the lead with better results. If you like learning about the Buffalo Soldiers and their story, you'll love this movie! Lookout for the quick cameo of Michael K. Williams (Omar from "The Wire").

"The Secret Life Of Bees" Premiere

The premiere for "The Secret Life Of Bees" premiere was this weekend, and everybody came out to support. Will and Jada Smith (the producers of the 1960's movie) were in attendance. Queen Latifah, Nate Parker, Jennifer Hudson and many others were there to show support. I love the premieres for African-American themed movies! They show the diversity in Hollywood! Kudos to Will and Jada!

The "We Can't Win Fairly" Award Goes To....

Senator John McCain and Govenor Palin! Govenor Palin has tried, once again, to label Obama as a terrorist and talk about his involvement with Rev. Wright. I find it funny that she is in the forefront and McCain is in the background! Who's running for President? I think she needs to play the background and shut up! Better yet, keep talking! She's making the case for everyone! We don't want her as the President! Note to Sarah Palin: Joe six-pack wants his model back! Go shoot some deer and leave politics to the wise!

The "Nasty Has-Been" Award Goes To.......

Foxxy Brown! Foxxy celebrated her birthday in true ghetto style! A nappy weave and all kinds of wardrobe malfunctions! What the hell is going on here? Why aren't these guys telling her that her booby is hanging out? That was a joke! I know that no guy would tell her that! Note to Foxxy: I just wanna say that it's okay to fade into obscurity! Many, before you, have done it! Look at JJ Fad and Oaktown's "357" and Michell"E! Go quietly, my child!

One! Two! Three! Suck It In!!!

Why is Mariah Carey trying to smash her vital organs? She needs to realize that tight and short does not mean cute or classy! She is sick! Nick is standing behind her and helping her to suck in air! LOL
