Comedian Mike Epps is facing a paternity suit. According to TMZ.com: "Randy Kessler, the woman's lawyer, says Epps has refused to submit to a paternity test or provide any support for the child, saying, "We are not asking for the moon, we are just asking him to take a paternity test. Once the tests are completed and paternity is confirmed, hopefully, Mr. Epps will do the right thing and begin to provide for his child."Kessler says he and his client initially wanted to work things out privately, but those efforts have been ignored by Epps and his camp. The paternity suit was filed in early February, and since then, Kessler says he has sent five letters and made a number of phone calls to Epps' lawyers -- and all he got back was silence. Calls to Mike Epps' rep have not been returned." Sad!! Mike Epps is married and has a child with his wife.

LeBron James/King Kong?
The world is in an uproar over the LeBron James cover of Vogue Magazine. People are saying that the representation of an African American athlete and a white model are degrading. Jemele Hill of ESPN wrote an interesting article about it. You can check it out at http://sports.espn.go.com/espn/page2/story?page=hill/080320&sportCat=nba&lpos=spotlight&lid=tab3pos1
I would like to address the fact that Vogue Magazine and America is finally seeing what we, as African American women, have been seeing forever. Why couldn't LeBron share that cover with an African American model? That's because when athletes party they are not partying with their African American girlfriends or wives. They are partying with the caucasian women who wait at the gates after games for them. Then the police are called! Then the DNA and paternity tests are needed! Brutal but true! Holla at me!
What????

Just Shut Up!!!!
I respect the whole "comedian" thing but, sometimes their rhetoric is just ignorant! Chris Rock had this to say about Barack Obama winning the presidency and black women, "I don't think a black woman can be first lady of the United States. Yeah, I said it!" Rock cackles in his cover story in Rolling Stone. "A black woman can be president, no problem. First lady? Can't do it. You know why? Because a black woman cannot play the background of a relation ship. Just imagine telling your black wife that you're presi dent? 'Honey, I did it! I won! I'm the president.' 'No, we the president! And I want my girlfriends in the Cabinet! I want Kiki to be secretary of state! She can fight!' "
As a black woman I say we can! Does he discredit his mother in such a way? What about his two daughters? What about his wife? Perhaps that's why he was laying down with woman of the caucasian persuasion! Chris Rock, just shut up!

It's About Damn Time!
Daddy Dr. Dre!
The New York Post online ahs posted a funny excerpt from Dr. Dre's mother. Check it out:
"One day I received that phone call - the call that all moms of teenagers dread," Dre's mother, Verna Griffin, writes in her upcoming memoir, "Long Road Outta Compton." Just 17, Dre (real name: Andre Young) had been secretly seeing 16-year-old Lisa Johnson. "Lisa's mom called me to inform me that Andre had been sneaking over to their home and Lisa was now pregnant," Griffin relates. "When I asked her if she was sure that it was Andre who had been with Lisa, she got very upset. She said, 'If I had come home and caught that n - - - - r in my house, you would have been picking him up in a box.' Needless to say, the conversation went down from there." But Griffin stood her ground, telling the irate mother, "My son didn't break in your house and rape your daughter; she let him in, which makes her just as much as fault as he is." In January 1983, Johnson gave birth to Dre's first child, La Tonya Danielle, although the two never married.
I wonder how his daughter is doing now?

Halle Names Her Baby!
Did You See It?
"Dancing With The Stars" premiered last night! The men danced yesterday and the women dance tonight. My faves were Mario and Karina and Jason Taylor and Edyta. I was surprised at their fluidity! I just knew they were gonna be stiff. I think Adam Carrolla should be first to leave. Especially, after he called one of the judges a "Bitch" for giving him a low score. I never liked him! You have to say that like Tony Montana in Scarface. Say "Heem, I neva lie heem!" LOL Stay Tuned!

"My Neck, My Reality Show?"
MC Serch, my favorite old school rapper, has a show starting April 14th on VH1, called Miss Rap Supreme. Along with MC Serch, the co-host will be Yo-Yo! The funniest thing about the show is that Khia ("My Neck, My Back" song) will be a contestant. (Go ahead insert joke here!) I thought she was an established rapper? Anyhoo, I can't wait to see Serch and Yo-Yo!
Racist Bullshyt!
According to Mediatakeout.com, Zachary Ty Bryan (formerly of Home Improvement fame) called a Negro League ballplayer the "N" word. Check this out:
"I was listening to a local Tampa sports radio station this morning and they have a mixed hosting crew...Ron Diaz and Ian Beckles (former Tampa Bay Bucs player). There was an old-timers or sports hall of fame event that they hosted honoring an old time player from the Negro Leagues. "Mud Cat" Grant who was a great Negro League player was telling a story about how it was to be a baseball player in the old Jim Crow days and apparently, your boy Zachary Ty Bryan from Home Improvement was there and he was liquored up. He stood up in the middle of the man's speech and yells out that he "doesn't want to hear any of that N*gger stuff". He was subdued by security and escorted out but he almost caught a beat down. So far there has been no comment from Bryan's camp or publicist."
IF, this is true, he needs a beatdown, on site!
Congrats To Halle Berry!
