Are you sure his parents are disgusted? Usually, these types of attitudes and beliefs are learned by the parents. Unless Mr. Burnette enrolled himself in a KKK indoctrination college, he had to learn this stuff at home.
At least, that's what I think.
They are disgusted that he didn't have the sense to hide his feelings, like they do. That is what helps them keep their jobs. Realistically, people have these feelings. They are deep rooted. It is when the world has to see or hear this filth, that you have to suffer the consequences. No, his parents aren't angry about his feelings! They are angry that his decision to post them on a social network site has cost him his education!
