R.I.P. Chris Henry

Chris Henry is a NFL player for the Cincinnati Bengals. During an argument with his fiance Loleini Tonga, the mother of his 3 children, Chris was mortally injured. He succumbed to his injuries today. No information on whether the fiance will be charged. Apparently, she tried to leave and he jumped into the flatbed of the truck she was driving and within a quarter of a mile, from her residence in Charlotte,NC , he fell from the flatbed and sustained head injuries. The couple had 3 children DeMarcus, Seini and Chris Jr. Pray for this family!

Deadbeat Dad!

Horace Grant is a former NBA player who won rings in Chicago. Well, he is also an "alleged" deadbeat dad. His former wife, Donna, sent this lovely letter to bossip.com, explaining his bizarre behavior. Read on:
I am Horace Grant’s x-wife I’d like to give some information on how much of a millionaire dead beat dad he is! Yeah I know all his life and still til this day his claim to fame is he’s “A Christian” and now that he is retired all he does now is “give back.” But, yet in still for almost all of his son’s younger years he has failed to provide health insurance, refuse to pay my son’s college tuition and dorm fee’s and monthly stipend.
My son is not in school now he even refuse to pay for junior college…

I hate deadbeats! I think I have made this clear in former posts but, I really hate it when people sit back and allow people like, Horace Grant, to get away with it! My sons father is far from a millionaire but, I wasn't going to allow him to screw all over me in court. I, definitely, wouldn't allow my sons education to be affected! I would write letters and solicit attorneys! If money is a problem, seek new attorneys or attorneys that will perform work pro-bono. Whatever you have to do, make certain your court orders and divorce decrees are enforced! Shame him and embarrass him! Whatever you have to do! As an adult, you are the voice of your child! If you don't speak up, who will?

I'm Next!

I'm next to have a television show! Well, not really but, I feel justified! I am sickened by the television shows on now! I will address the first one that needs to be cancelled. The Wanda Sykes show! I am so tired of her off-brand humor. I tried to give her the benefit of the doubt but, I am sickened. I think she needs better correspondents and writers. The whole premise of the show is stupid. I notice that she reminds us that she is gay every week. Could this be to ensure the gay vote? Otherwise, it has no relevance. I feel that black people are under attack by her. We had to watch Tiger's affairs unfold on the daily news, can you please find material related to something else? Saturday she demanded answers from the President. We, as black people, need to understand that the Presidency is a very complicated job. I wouldn't want it! I, surely, don't expect him to get into office and change everything for me because he's black! Listen, I gave the show a chance but, her unfunny sidekick and that stupid segment where the drinks are served, are unnecessary! Give Cedric The Entertainer a show! Bring Martin Lawrence back but, please, please take Wanda Sykes away! I might have given her a pass if it weren't for the fact that she is married to a white woman and raising white children! Yet she always talking about black people! Go back to obscurity!

My Idea For War!

If the rolls of the Armed Forces are still running low! I suggest that the American prisoners that are being paid to sit and master their crafts, be trained and sent to Afghanistan and other terrorist countries, to fight! If you are man enough to pick up a gun and take a life, fight for your country! They have ravished their communities and broken up families, in the name of a color or drug turf! Fight for something honorable! If the Geneva Code is put into their heads and they are brainwashed to abide by the code, this could work! Perhaps a parole once their tour of duty is over, will assist with the process. If a person violates their parole, they receive another tour of duty. The next time they will be placed in another warring area. They must fight until they are too old to continue fighting. Maybe, then they will sit their asses down. Make their parents proud, for once. The jails are overcrowded and people are being released, only to reoffend! This recidivism has got to stop! If you feel differently, please comment! Any comments are welcome! Thanks to my cousin Gary for helping iron the wrinkles in our plan! I came up with this plan because I am tired of poor little kids losing their parents! Especially since, these convicts are coming home taking off their shirts and bragging about doing "time!" Let's make them brag about doing something respectable. I am NOT pro-war, I detest war and I'm very upset we have been pulled into this for oil! I, just, think that we are throwing good money for bad! We can save money and lives and families with my plan. What's yours?

My Duty!

I feel it's my duty to also address the fact that children are being molested all over the world! The fact that the latest, alleged, molester is a celebrity only makes us know his name. What about all the poor children that are being used and abused by parents or friends and we don't know their names? Anonymity is what allows these people to continue! I, also, feel the need to talk about victims becoming victimizers! Majority of the molesters were victims, at some point, themselves. I am a strong advocate for therapy! Why people like to carry burdens and feel that seeing a counselor is such an awful stigma, is beyond me. I live for a person who can listen to my shit and not judge me but, steer me in a different direction. I'm not crazy! You'd be crazy to not take up that opportunity! I really just want people to focus on the action and not the celebrity. Somewhere there is a 3 and 4 year old that, if left with no therapy, are growing into victimizers! My story below, albeit sensational, is not unique! Let's focus on the victims. Thank you for reading.

Pleasure P or Molester B?

Perhaps you've never heard of the group "Pretty Ricky." That's neither here nor there but, the scandal is hot and it's still brewing. A few years back this group came onto the scene and had a few hits. In the height of their burgeoning career, the lead singer left the group! His name was Pleasure P! I know, what kinda name is that? Anyhoo, Pleasure P went on to find success as a solo artist with hits like, "Under" and "Boyfriend #2." I always wanted to know why he left the group so soon! Well, Mediatakeout.com and a few more reputable blogs, have found out why he left the group and it's not "pretty!" Allegedly, Pleasure P, nee Marcus Cooper, was kicked out of the group after he, allegedly, molested a 3 and 4 year old child. The story first dropped when the daughter of the attorney that represented Marcus Cooper, revealed that her father was paid to keep the scandal quiet. When this happened, Mediatakeout.com found papers showing that the nephew of Marcus Cooper was placed in a shelter after there were allegations leveled against him. The papers state that Marcus Cooper cannot be unsupervised with his nephew and he cannot live in the home with his nephew! His former group has not confirmed this but, they did put out a statement confirming that they kicked him out of the group! I wonder what Eddie Murphy has to say about all this! Especially since his daughter, Bria, has been spotted out and about with Pleasure P, lately! To see the documents go here!

A Sad Day!

It was a sad day in a Pontiac,MI courtroom. Two 15 year olds sentenced to life in prison, with no chance of parole. Their crime? Their crime was kicking two homeless men to death in a 3 day spree. They were found guilty of 1st degree murder and, in Michigan, that carries a sentence of life in prison. Two mother sobbed as their children were turned over to the Michigan Department of Justice. As one mother sobbed the judge said, "Stop crying! Are you crying because you feel sorry for him or sorry for yourself?" There has been much debate about these sentences for young adults. Many feel that these "children" are being turned into even harder criminals being placed in the system so young. Others feel that these kids are old enough to know the difference between right and wrong and are hell bent on going to jail, anyway. Whatever stance you take, there are two kids being placed amongst the hardest of hard. I don't know if they could have been rehabilitated if left on the streets. Neither does the judge or jury. What I do know is, two kids are being thrown to the wolves. All I can do is pray for their soul. The judge gave good advice to the young men. He said, “At your age, going to the penitentiary is difficult. Don’t make any friends. Keep quiet. Follow the rules. And hold your head up high.” Read the rest of the story here

World A.I.D.S. Day!

It's hard to believe that the way A.I.D.S has ravished the world, we still need to ask people to get tested! A simple cheek swab is all it takes to ensure your safety! Once thought of as a gay disease, A.I.D.S. has crept into the heterosexual community and run rampant. Now, young girls are being passed this disease by the adult men who are pursuing and bedding them. Of course, it doesn't stop there! That young girl, then, returns to her high school and passes it to some unsuspecting and pubescent young man. Girls, today, are still only concerned about being pregnant. They are still not protecting themselves and thinking the worst that can happen would be an abortion. I urge ALL parents to talk to your children until you are blue in the face about sex. Yes, it's uncomfortable but, so are the images of A.I.D.S. victims. We are losing our children to violence and drugs and we stand up about it! Yet, no one wants to talk about sex with their child? Show them pictures, tell them stories! Even if you have to tell stories about yourself! When you personalize stories, they listen. My sons friends feel that their parents don't listen and are too old fashion. If they knew that their parents went through the very same things they are struggling through, perhaps they'd be more at ease with talking to them. I don't want this to turn into a lecture on parenting but, WE are responsible for protecting our children! Tell them about getting tested and being protected and most of all being RESPECTED! Get Tested!

Putt Putt My Butt!

I'm sure you have all heard about the little fender bender that Tiger Woods had Friday! Well, I happen to think there is more to the story than meets the eye. Let's recap shall we? First, The National Enquirer reports that Tiger is having an affair with a New York party girl. Before Tiger can refute the story, he has a little accident. Allegedly, he pulls out of his driveway in his Cadillac Escalade, and hits a fire hydrant and then a tree on his neighbors property. The accident does not cause his airbags to deploy but, it is so serious that his wife, Elin, must bust out the back windows to get him out of the car. She drags him out of the car and lays him on the ground. When the police arrive, she is standing over his body and he is semi-conscious and bloody at the mouth. He is taken to the hospital, treated and released. Both Tiger and his wife are refusing to meet with police to tell what REALLY happened that night. Now that was their scenario! TMZ says that a friend of Tiger's told them that Tiger and his wife were in a heated argument and Tiger said, "She went ghetto on me!" She, allegedly, grabbed two golf clubs and went after him. Funny how people marry people that are not their race and act surprised when those same people "go ghetto" on their ass! That's not ghetto, that's what a scorned woman will do! No matter what color she is! Tiger has said this is embarrassing to his family and that they intend to keep it a private matter. This is what is fueling speculation! If it was just a minor accident, keep reiterating that and move on. Sadly, Tiger will no longer be know as the golfer with the best swing! His wife has taken that title!

Well, I Did It!

I joined the ranks of people on Facebook! I know, I said I would never join but, it has done some good things! It brought me in touch with my best friend. We hadn't seen or spoke to each other in 13 years. Along with the upside, as you know, comes the bad side. I've been contacted by folks that I never wanted to see or hear from again. The wonderful thing about Facebook is that I don't really have to be bothered by them. I can selectively tune them out. If you like looking up old friends or old lovers, consider joining Facebook. You won't regret it!

First Family Portrait!

I saw this picture and I thought, "How wonderful!" I am truly smitten with the First Family. How I wish we could all have families like this. The girls are growing and they look so cute. I feel that President Obama (I didn't have to call him that but, I love the ring of it!) and First Lady Michelle (I still love the ring of it!) are so suited for each other. Black love, isn't it grand?

Busy Busy!

I have been so neglect of my duties. You see, it all started when I realized my son was in the process of getting a driver's license. No way in hell, was he going to be driving his little friends around in my car! This is what started me on what is now being called, "The Never Ending Used Car Salesman Hunt!" When people used to make fun of Used car salesmen, I thought it was just THEIR experience. Little did I know that 98% of the men I met were slimy and big liars! Because this will not be my first experience with used cars, I knew what to look and listen for. I spotted a nice Acura TL and decided to test drive it. The saleman said that he was "firm" on the price. Imagine, to my surprise, the car was making a slight jump when switching gears. The car was an automatic so the gears should have switched smoothly. I told the man I refused to buy a car with a problem transmission. I thought he had seen a ghost! He couldn't imagine how I knew about it but, he wanted to deal at that point. I opted not to buy that car because 1). transmissions are pricey and usually never work properly again. 2). I wanted a car that I could feel my son would be safe in and a tricky transmission could conk out at a very inopportune time. Like when making a risky left turn. I am telling this whole story to inform women that WE need to learn about cars. There won't always be times when we have a man around to negotiate for us. My mother is the master negotiator and she taught me well. Also, if you are test driving a used car, find the nearest Autozone and they will check out the diagnostics for free. If there is no Autozone handy, find the nearest service center and ask that they check out the fluids, (transmission fluid, coolant and oil). Tell the person you are thinking of buying this car and ask their opinion. They have no vested interest and will be truthful. Keep all these tips in mind and you will prevail. NOW GO SHOP

Falcon Fail!

The world was captivated by the little boy who was swept away in a man-made balloon. In fact, the world now calls him "Balloon Boy!" Little Falcon Heene has now confessed to the world that they did it "for the show." His father has been on TV saying that it's not true but, you have to believe him. The boy has been asked since, and he keeps throwing up! I started to doubt the family as soon as the balloon came down. Not only was little Falcon not in the balloon but, the box they claimed he was in wasn't there. It has since came to my attention that the father called the local TV station before calling the cops. He call and asked for a TV helicopter! When the producer called him back and said, "are you serious?" He, then, put the police on the phone. Who in the world would call the local TV station first? The family is notorious for their antics and had pitched an idea for a show to TLC, only to be rejected. This makes me wanna say, "Just get a damn job!"

Every once in a while, you run into a person andd think they are great. Well, if you don't tell them how will they know? I want to talk about Newark New Jersey's mayor, Cory Booker. I stumbled upon this humble hero while watching Forest Whitaker's show Brick City on Sundance. The show followed Mayor Booker and his staff and other Newarkers trying to make a difference. I found him attractive, articulate and exactly what Newark and Detroit needs. He truly CARED for the city and it's residents. I watched as he balanced budget tried to combat crime and participated in Midnight Basketball. The man has spirit and more energy than a 2 year old. I love a man with conviction. Mr. Booker is single but, I'm sure not for long. Note to Cory Booker: I applaud you for the work you are doing and I respect you for the poise you possess in the face of opposition. I will visit your fair city one day and I pray that you are still in charge. God Bless...

Finally!

Rush Limbaugh wants to buy into the St Louis Rams. "Not so fast" say the African American players on the team! Many of the players have said that they will NOT play if he is a part of the organization. One player said,
“I am not going to draw a conclusion form a person off of one comment, but when it is time after time after time and there's a consistent pattern of disrespect and just a complete misunderstanding of an entire culture that I am a part of, I can't respect him as a man,” remarked Mathias Kiwanuka of the New York Giants on the possibility of playing for Limbaugh.

I am happy people are starting to stand against people like Rush. He taints America! Ironically, he is doing damage to the very place he claims to love. I hope that the rest of the organization, or any NBA, NFL, NHL or MLB will follow in their footsteps! You can watch Rush if you want to but, we won't fatten his pockets!

I Knew It!

If you go back in my archives, I told you that I thought President Obama was destined for great things! He was a Senator when I said this. I heard him speak about family and the world and I was taken. I wanted to say, "You had me at hello!" Well, apparently, I wasn't the only person who felt this way. Today, President Barack Hussein Obama, was bestowed the ultimate compliment. He was made, only the third sitting president, to receive the Nobel Peace Prize. Such an esteemed award could not have been given to a better person. Congratulations and keep up the wonderful work!

Meet David Otunga Jr.!

Jennifer Hudson has decided to share her bundle of joy with the world. Little David is 2 months old now and sleeps through the night! What a Blessing! I remember when my son was 2 months and he started sleeping through the night. It was an early milestone but, I was damn grateful. Congrats to Jennifer and Davis Otunga on their little Blessing!

Christina Milian and her new hubby The Dream (better known as Fanny) are expecting a baby! According to People.com Christina said, "My husband and I are expecting," she said, showing off a baby bump under a loose dress. "We're really excited." Christina is almost 5 months preggo. If you are wondering why I called The Dream Fanny, it's a conjunction of Fat+Skinny! His face looks fat but, his body is skinny! This will be the 4th child for The Hamburgler, I mean The Dream. C'mon, you know he looks like The Hamburgler! LOL

Sidenote: The Dream has a daughter and twin sons by his former wife Singer, Nivea. Nivea is now carrying a baby by Lil Wayne. The music world is a merry-go-round.

The mother Alexsandra Wright, is six months pregnant and says Matthew is the daddy! Sing it with me, "If you like it you should put a condom on it! Uh-oh uh-uh oh-uh-uh!" Okay that was tacky. Did I mention that Matthew is married to Tina Knowles (mother of Beyonce and Solange)? Please excuse me my phone is ringing! "Hello? Hi, Maury! What's that Maury? You are warming up your DNA kit? STOP THE VIOLENCE!

I had to wait a few days to talk about Derrion Albert. Much discussion about this young man on twitter but, I needed a day. I am beyond livid with the careless violence in OUR communities. You can't run from it, if you're bringing it with you! When did our children stop valuing life? What year was it that OUR children made murder a sport? People think I'm too strict on my son. To them I say, "I'm trying to keep him alive!" God gives us children and he says, "Take care of this precious package until I come back for him/her." Taking care of that precious package is what I intend to do. When I think about this all "A" student being beaten to death in the street and people would rather videotape than protect, I AM SICKENED! The four boys did this world a grave injustice! Derrion could have cured cancer. Derrion could have made the paralyzed walk again. Derrion could have found a cure for A.I.D.S! We'll never know because he chose schooling over gangs! To parents: Let's stop trying to be popular with our children and get on their backs! Teach them the importance of prayer and being civil with one another! Most importantly, TALK TO THEM! Please keep the Albert family in your prayers. Pray for the 4 young men who did this crime. Most of all just pray.......

Why is everything the Kardashians do, a publicity stunt? Seriously! They pimp out the one daughters womb for a baby and reality show, then they marry another daughter after a ONE month courtship to a B-baller who was, just recently, spotted out with Claudia Jordan! Not to be left out, Kim shows up at the wedding with Reggie Bush! This family learned well! Their mother was th ultimate gold-digger! Marrying Bruce Jenner and hanging out with O.J. and Nicole Simpson, even when she alleged O.J. was beating Nicole! Of course, she never mentioned this until Nicole was dead! This family makes me sick! I'm tired of people walking around doing outlandish shit for a check! How does the ENTIRE family get on television because one daughter screwed Ray J (a washed up brother of a f-list celeb) and was stupid enough to tape the session? I'm so over the Karnoclassians!

An Open Letter!

I was perusing another blog (allhiphop.com) when I came across a letter written to Alicia Keys from singer Mashonda. I want to post the letter but I must first tell the background. Mashonda is a singer and the wife of producer, Swizz Beatz. Mashonda and Swizz are divorcing and Mashonda says that Alicia Keys is the reason. Alicia Keys and Swizz are now an item. Read the letter:
"After having a great evening with my son and enjoying some fun twit chat, I decided to sign off and get some work done. However, a few hours later I was advised that I should check @aliciakeys twit page (twitter). I've never reached out to her on twitter before. I feel our issues are a lot more serious than a website conversation. Not to mention that I've reached out to her many times in the beginning of this whole thing, as any wife would do. Unfortunately, I never succeeded in getting a response. The 1st time I meet AK, my husband introduced us to each other at an event. ( I have no choice but to call him my husband, until he is not anymore) In the messages that I sent to her (AK), I made it very clear that on the contrary of what she might be hearing, I am still married to my husband, living with him and just had a child. Its been two years and I still have not received a response. What I do receive, is constant displays of selfishness and disconcern to me and my son.

I was a fan of AK's last album, we were both signed to J Records and I always checked up on her projects. I sang her songs and admired her for creating Superwoman and Karma, I would never deny her, her talent. I believed in her until I found out she was possibly sleeping with my husband. The affair was denied by both, until it was finally admitted months later.

Already I can hear some of you saying " why are u blaming her, You cant make someone leave their wife, You cant break something thats broken". Well, my marriage was not broken, as far as I knew we were celebrating our sons birth and getting ready to celebrate our 5 year wedding anniversary . Call it blind love, whatever. I call it being a devoted wife.. As far as me blaming her and not blaming him, thats false. Me and my husband have worked out our differences. We are in a good place as people and as parents. I accept his choices and I am comfortable enough with myself to move on. I am so very blessed in many ways.

My concern with AK is no longer the fact that she assisted in destroying a family but that she has the audacity to make these selfish comments about love and wanting to be with someone, even after knowing their situation. How is this the same Superwoman that I sang out loud with in my truck? I ask myself sometimes.

If you are reading this Alicia, let me start by saying, you know what you did. You know the role you played and you know how you contributed to the ending of my marriage. You know that I asked you to step back and let me handle my family issues. Issues that you helped to create.
Im not saying everything was perfect all the time but no relationship is perfect. We made a vow to God and I believe you should have respected that, as a woman. I know you owe me or my son nothing but I just wish you would've handled things more carefully. I'm not judging you, I put you and the whole situation in the hands of God, the Higher Power. Just know that as a woman, I expected so much more from you. I never had intentions on reaching out to you this way but after reading your twits tonight, and the constant disregard, you left me no choice. I feel that after 1 and a half years of you hiding this affair and acting like it doesnt exist, that now is the time to confront it, since you talk so openly about it now

This is not a publicity stunt, I dont have a record coming out. I just need to close this chapter in my life and that means confronting our issues. There is a small child involved. His dad loves him to death and he wants to spend more time with him but hes afraid because he knows we don't have a relationship. This is my main concern. I read your tweets tonight and I felt they were very insensitive. You have no idea how much pain I was caused because of this affair. If its so, that you and my husband are meant to be together, then God bless you both and I hope you never have to deal with what I did. I would not wish it on my worst enemy. If you two being together forever is the case, its more of a reason for us to get along, because I'm not going anywhere. Theres a child to be raised.

Baby, Babay!

When I had my son he came out at 4 pounds 15 ounces! He was healthy as a bull. During my labor, the lady down the hall could be heard screaming because she was delivering a 13 pound baby! She screamed bloody murder for hours! When I went to see my son in the nursery he lay there looking bored and ready to go. Next to him was a big-ass baby that filled the little crib he was in. He had an IV in his head and looked like he was growing before my eyes! Well, and Indonesian woman has outdone that baby! The woman gave birth, by caesarean, to a 19 pound baby! The baby was so big because trhe mother was diabetic which made the baby receive too much glucose. How in the hell can you carry a stomach with over 20 pounds in it? This baby looks like he needs a nipple on a milk gallon!

Whitney Houston redeemed herself! The Oprah Winfrey show had a two part interview with the incredible Whitney Houston. I say incredible because she sang and sounded like the "old" Whitney! Phenomenal! She looks good, sounds good and I pray that she stays good! KUDOS!

Dear Mr. Lanksder,

I think it was very inappropriate to conduct an interview in this manner. I counted and you said, "Like ummm" over 40 times in 2 minutes. People are saying that you were under the infuence ('shrooms) but, I think speech therapy is needed. I am not an expert but, there seems to be a disconnect in the brain and speech path. I pray that you will not only get help but, will discontinue ANY further interviews until you get said help!

There's No "I" In Team.....

I watched the video of Michael Jeffrey Jordan's induction into The Hall Of Fame and I was sad. The Greatest Player Of All turned his acceptance speech into a volley of harsh taunts and trash talking! After they talked about how "great" he was he launched into a tirade. He talked about Bryon Russell being the reason he returned after his retirement. Apparently Russell, who was a rookie in Utah, saw him out and challenged him. Big mistake! Jordan made the game winning bucket over Russell's head in a very embarrassing win over Utah. He flew in the starting point guard, who his high school coach picked over him, and stated that he just wanted his former coach to know that, "You made a big mistake, dude!" He talked about Isiah Thomas and Jeff Van Gundy and a slew of others. All while they sat in their seats honoring him! The worst point came when instead of thanking his family, namely his children, he simply said, "I'd hate to be you guys!" I sat with my mouth on the floor watching his display. He went from being the "greatest" to being a sad bully! I know the Hall Of Fame would love to rescind their award but, after all his stats speak for themselves. I pray that he looks at the tape and realizes that he stepped on people, needlessly. I pray that he says that his children are watching and he is tarnishing a wonderful legend. Who am I kidding, he is Michael Jeffrey Jordan.

Rest In Peace.....

A wonderful man passed away today. I didn't know him personally but, he entertained me all the same. Patrick Swayze was a class act from "Ghost" to "Dirty Dancing" I enjoyed his talent. I am happy he is at peace and no longer suffering. Sleep well.....

VMA Disgrace #2

Lil Mama, a rapper from New York, ran onstage and busted up Jay-Z's set! The girl has moxy! The rap world is ssaying her career is over! Well, Lil Mama has issued an apology. I accept and perhaps Jay-Z will accept but, will the fans accept. Read on:

Blame It On The A-A-Alcohol!

Last night Kanye West sunk to a new low. His despicable behavior has me wondering: Why are people boycotting Chris Brown while this fool is at-large? In case you were in a coma, last night, at the VMA's Taylor Swift won for "Best Female Video" and during her acceptance speech, Kanye ran up and snatched the microphone and told the crowd that Beyonce had the hottest selling record and video. Poor Taylor left the stage in shock and embarrassed. Judging by the picture of Kanye and his trophy gal, Amber Rose, I think the alcohol fueled his mania! Do I think he needs to seek therapy? YES! There is something very wrong with a person who NEEDS attention, at all cost. That 19 year old girl, will remember the actions of this, alleged, adult forever. I'm sure that when MTV shows it again they will edit out the Kanye shenanigans. I wish I could...

What Kinda Mess.....

Kandi Burress is a singer/songwriter/and Real Housewives Of Atlanta newcomer. Although she is not married, she is (at least on the show) engaged to be married. Her fiance has 6 children and is not accepted by her mother. I understand that now the couple is no longer together and she has custody of two of his daughters! Kandi's explanation is: "The twin girls mother felt overwhelmed and gave custody to their father. Their father felt they needed a positive female role model and so Kandi stepped in." I must say that Kandi is a saint! How many people would take on their exes children? This is the very reason her mother was so against their union. Mother's always know best. Kandi is pictured with her ex A.J.

There's nothing like a movie full of fine men! I can't wait to see this! Scheduled for a 2010 release, "Takers" is about a group of robbers who run into a nosy detective. I am waiting with baited breath....

How Bizarre!

Janet Jackson is gracing Harper"s Bazaar with an interview. She discusses being single and the impact that Michael Jackson's death has had on her and her family. Miss Jackson looks good on the cover, very high fashion. I am glad to see she let go of Jermaine Dupre. No offense, but, I thought they were a complete mismatch. Kudos to Janet for speaking so soon after Michael's death!

Prayers Work!

While perusing another blog (Straight From The A) I saw a wonderful update to a story about Maia Campbell. Apparently, a woman from NAMI(National Alliance On Mental Illness) of Urban Los Angeles, contacted the blogger and told her that Maia is in treatment. NAMI is a group that Bebe Moore Campbell helped found. Thanks for your prayers and continue to pray that she finishes treatment.
